The Far East Continues With Japan

Yes, the Far East continues with Japan. The part of the schedule that drives bettors in the United States insane is still here. Indonesia tested the patience and now Japan will too. With super early wake-ups, it will be essential to follow as much of the action as possible. We emphasized several times to watch the weather. Currently, Motegi is expecting rain and storms on Saturday with just Cloudy conditions on Sunday. That can change.

The Japan Grand Prix has been back on this track since 2022. 2020 and 2021 saw the race skip Japan due to COVID issues. Jack Miller won the race in 2022 and then Jorge Martin won a daring edition in 2023. He outlasted Francesco Bagnaia by 1.4 seconds. Marc Marquez was only two seconds behind and now he is in a very fast Ducati. Could Marquez make up that difference and get his third win of 2024?

This is one of those races where anything can happen. Okay, last year's edition went just 12 laps. This year, things will be different likely as we are expected to go a full 24. Who does that favor? It may favor Bagnaia and Marquez to be honest, provided there are no crash-outs or unexpected DNF's.

Okay, last year was kind of like a double sprint in theory. That benefitted Martin. Over 24 laps, the thought process is riders like Marquez, Bagnaia, Binder, and even Bastianini may have a shot at the podium when compared to the Spaniard. Could Martin find a way though?

2024 Japan GP Bets Seem To Lean On Bagnaia

The 2024 Japan GP Bets seem to lean on Bagnaia for Sunday. One of the big dilemmas with the co-favorites is can they go 24 laps against a hard-charging Italian? With Bagnaia falling further behind after last week, one gets the hunch that this week may see another twist. It seems like this race cannot be settled until the last event of the season. After all, Francesco Bagnaia can still get to double digits in wins.

Unfortunately or fortunately, Bagnaia lengthened all the way out to +250 on Bovada. No one will believe this but it is true. While Martin is all but a lock to win the Sprint, a 24-lap race again could be a different story as Bagnaia gets faster and faster on the 4.801-kilometer circuit. The 14-turn course brings plenty of straightway speed. The Italian knows his margin of error keeps decreasing. He must accumulate points and preferably Sunday wins.

The reality of the 2024 Japan GP Picks is this. Is there a way that Jorge Martin crashes out paving the way for an easier Bagnaia win? It is possible but does not seem likely. Then again, both of these guys have made some colossal unforced errors that have been costly. Honestly, Bagnaia seems to possess the rabbit's foot this week or it appears to be his turn.

One may not see the Italian at this number the rest of the season especially if he wins on Sunday. This is more about taking a chance on the value of a favorite who would be Even if he was up by 30+ points in the World Title race.

Okay We Have To Look At Some Longer Shots

The 2024 Japan GP Bets may have to look at some longer shots. While the usual suspects battle away, does someone else factor into the podium or even win perhaps? That is the funny thing about these late races. There can always be a stunner. See Jack Miller two years ago here at Motegi as an excellent example. Marco Bezzecchi and Franco Morbidelli could be factors again this week and both were in the Top 5 last week. The two riders are in the +1600 to +2500 range.

At a minimum, Red Bull KTM bikes creates a head of steam and if the weather should turn more upside down, Brad Binder always has to be considered in a monsoon or heavy rain condition. At +3000 on BetOnline, he is worth a look. Keep an eye to see what he is at for a podium position. He could sneak up there like a Morbidelli or Bezzecchi.

Alright, it is awfully rough to figure out how the race will play out. For one thing, let us hope this does not get red flagged the way Japan was last year. This was a brutal scenario for everyone and could have been fatal for Bagnaia potentially. In a twist, maybe the third KTM rider surprises everyone. Jack Miller was 1st in 2022 and third in 2023. At +4000, hey why not.
