Bellator 298 is a loaded fight card with 17 different fights to bet on. 17! However, we’ve narrowed down the three Bellator 298 fights most worth betting on. We're sharing them below for free so stick with us!
- What: Bellator 298
- When: August 11
- Where: Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Logan Storley vs. Brennan Ward Betting Pick
South Dakota is playing hosts to Bellator 298 for this strategic business reason — it’s the home state of Storley. He’s fought for Bellator in Sioux Falls more than once and it’s always a hero’s welcome when Storley steps into the ring. We expect the same this Friday. As it stands, top MMA Bellator betting sites have marked Storley a big favorite to win over Ward. Here’s the betting odds both ways:
Storley needs a bounce-back performance after his last fight. In the worst showing of his career, the former welterweight title contender was absolutely mauled by Yaroslav Amosov. It was a unanimous decision defeat but Storley was outclassed like we’ve never seen him. That’s now two losses to Amosov for Storley, the only ones of his career.
However, Ward is not Amosov. He’s not even in the same stratosphere if we’re being honest. The 35-year-old Ward has been with Bellator since 2012. He’s hung around, but rarely competed with the top fighters. Ward owns a so-so 17-6 career record but is missing that signature moment.
If Ward gets that moment against Storley, surely, it’ll be on the feet. Ward is definitely a stand-up fighter first and foremost. Storley has steadily improved his striking game, but make no mistake about it, wrestling is still his forte.
We’re of the belief a good wrestling game is still the number-one key to success in MMA. Therefore, we’re confidently betting on Storley to win here. Ward knows that and our gut says he’ll be hesitant to swing since his focus will be on stopping the takedown. If so, fighting scared like that won’t do him any favors.
Valentin Moldavsky vs. Steve Mowry Betting Pick
The semi-main event doesn’t have the closest moneyline either. In this heavyweight clash, Moldavsky is a comfortable -245 to win out. We believe bettors are better off taking the Moldavsky-Mowry over/under, which is set at 2.5 rounds. Odds each way are as follows:
This is actually a rematch from a year ago. These two squared off at Bellator 284, coincidentally also in South Dakota. The fight was called off seconds after starting when Moldavsky accidentally eye-poked Mowry. Almost a year to the day, we get our rematch.
We’ll be upfront and say Mowry is a bit of a mystery. He’s only fought one complete fight in Bellator, which he won earlier this year. However, that’s not nearly enough to give us a complete picture of his game.
Here’s what we can infer about Mowry though: he has finishing potential. Besides that lone Bellator win, every single victory of Mowry’s career has been via stoppage. Six career victories have been by submission, followed by another four through KO/TKO. That alone hints the under is a good play IF he can pull off the upset.
Moldavsky, on the other hand, is much more proven and tested in Bellator. However, he hasn’t been at his best since 2021. Since then, he’s lost twice and had that no contest. He’s only 31 years old, but it’s fair to wonder if Moldavasky might be on the decline.
For all these reasons, we didn’t want to bet on the moneyline. Instead, we’ll gladly jump on the under. If Moldavsky can fend off the challenger, it’ll be through superb wrestling and ground game. That could open him up for a submission victory, which again points to that under hitting.
Dalton Rosta vs. Aaron Jeffery Betting Pick
We’re really looking forward to this middleweight class. To us, it has a “prove it” feel for Rosta, who is starting to get the hype train going for him. Here’s how the Rosta-Jeffery moneyline odds shake out:
Rosta’s hype comes from his 8-0 record. All those wins have come in Bellator too so not some random promotion against tomato cans. Half of those victories have been via stoppage thanks to a solid striking game. Jeffery is the best fighter Rosta has faced yet though hence the “prove it” feel. Our money still says Rosta is for real and he earns the ‘W here. Bank on it!
