The wildcard matches are complete, and there are now only eight teams left in the running to be the 2022 World Series winners.
Starting on Tuesday is the four Division Series’ finals. The Houston Astros take on the Seattle Mariners, and the New York Yankees face the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Division Series (ALDS).
While over in the NLDS, the LA Dodgers take on the San Diego Padres, and the Atlanta Braves will be taking on the Philadelphia Phillies for a place in the NLCS.
The wildcard matches produced some spectacular results. All four series looked close, but to see three away wins from the four matchups was surprising. Cleveland beating Tampa Bay was probably the only series that went with form.

So, how does all of this affect the latest 2022 World Series betting odds?
Well, it hasn't made any major difference to the latest MLB betting odds. The LA Dodgers are still the favorites with the best MLB betting sites. BetOnline makes the Dodgers +275 to win the 2022 World Series. After that are the Astros at +390, the Braves at +525, and the Yankees are next at +550.

Latest Series Winner Betting
All four series are the best of five. The teams who had already qualified for the Division Series finals will have the fifth and potentially deciding game at home against the sides that qualified through the wildcard matches.
The higher seeded teams also start with back-to-back home matches. This gives the teams who have performed better over the course of the season an advantage.
The four series starting today, along with series winner odds, are:-
- Atlanta Braves (-190) v Philadelphia Phillies (+165)
- Houston Astros (-225) v Seattle Mariners (+195)
- New York Yankees (-210) v Cleveland Guardians (+180)
- LA Dodgers (-228) v San Diego Padres (+198)
The betting for the series outcomes looks closer than you might think. There are clear favorites in all four matchups, but they're not massively one sided. And if the series goes anything like the wildcard matches did, you can see why.
It's probably in part down to the wildcard performances that we see the odds closer than we might have originally expected. Now, let's take a look at the individual matches.
Braves v Phillies
The Phillies only needed two matches to beat the Cardinals in the wildcard series, winning 6-3 and 2-0. They are +170 on the Moneyline, with the Braves -200. The Braves (-1.5) are +110 on the handicap, with the Phillies at -130 with a 1.5 points start.
- What; Atlanta Braves v Philadelphia Phillies
- Where: SunTrust Park, Atlanta, Georgia
- When; Tuesday, October 11th, 2022
- Time; 1.07 pm ET
For me, the Braves have been exceptional in the second half of the season. Yes, after their wildcard performances, the Phillies can't be written off, but it would take a brave punter to bet against the Braves.
I'm taking the Braves to win on the handicap.
Astros v Mariners
Another team who impressed in the MLB playoffs are the Mariners. They saw off the Blue Jays at the Rogers Center in two matches.
They are +180 on the Moneyline for another win, with the Astros priced up at -220.
In the handicap market, the Mariners are -125 with a +1.5 points start. The Astros (-1.5) are +105. The total points spread is 6.5, with over at -120, under at +100.
- What; Houston Astros v Seattle Mariners
- Where: Minute Maid Park, Houston, Texas
- When; Tuesday, October 11th, 2022
- Time; 3.37 pm ET
I can see plenty of scores coming in this game, and even though I would prefer better odds than -120, I think over 6 has to be the pick.
Yankees v Guardians
Can the Guardians cash in on the inconsistent form of the Yankees? The Yankees last ten match record is 5-5.
- What; New York Yankees v Cleveland Guardians
- Where: Yankees Stadium, New York City
- When; Tuesday, October 11th, 2022
- Time; 7.37 pm ET
The Yankees are -220 on the Moneyline, the Guardians are +180. On the handicap the Yankees (-1.5) are +105 with the Guardians (+1.5) at -125. Over 7 is -105, under 7 is -115.
I'm not convinced by the Yankees, but I'm sticking with them for now.
Dodgers v Padres
I don't know why, but I've just got a feeling this might not be plain sailing for the Dodgers. But then you see the stat that says the Dodgers won 14 of the 19 matches they played against the Padres this season.
- What; LA Dodgers v San Diego Padres
- Where: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California
- When; Tuesday, October 11th, 2022
- Time; 9.37 pm ET
So, when you see that, along with the statistics telling you the Dodgers won 111 regular season matches to the Padres' 89, there can only be one bet. Yes, maybe the Padres can cause an upset. But based on those statistics, it would be foolish to bet against the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are -220 on the Moneyline the Padres are +180. On the handicap, the Dodgers (-1.5) are +105, the Padres (+1.5) are -125.
I'm going for the Dodgers on the handicap at +105, those odds are too good to ignore.
