World Series Game 6 Predictions
This late into the playoffs, there aren't a ton of wagers for MLB bettors to focus on. We're down to two teams and only one game, and every contest we see could be the last one of the season.
For that reason, it's important to cover every aspect of available baseball betting odds. Our World Series picks will not only look at the Game 6 winner, but we'll also take a look at World Series MVP odds and World Series winner prop bets.
We begin, though, with Game 6!
Will Astros Force a Game 7 vs. Braves?
Though they entered as the World Series favorites, the Astros looked absolutely cooked in the middle of Game 5. They not only trailed the Braves in the best-of-seven set 3-to-1 but Atlanta slugger Adam Duvall blasted a grand slam that appeared to sew up a title for his team.
So much for that.
Houston now feels like they have a ton of momentum. Their offense came alive in Game 5 yet still has room for improvement given that both Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez are each due for a breakout performance. Putting Luis Garcia on the mound without much rest is certainly a risk, but he has a solid 2.45 ERA in this series.
Atlanta, meanwhile, has Max Fried starting Game 6. He may be their ace, but the Astros have traditionally hit left-handers like himself extremely well. Fried has also had his own sets of struggles for much of the postseason.
It's almost surprising how confident we are in the Astros staving off a World Series letdown yet again. If you can stand the risk, we'd even recommend taking Houston to cover the spread of -1.5 runs for a +155 payout.
OSB Prediction: Houston Astros (-123)
World Series Winner Prediction
Take a look at the latest World Series winner betting odds:
- Braves in 6: +110
- Braves in 7: +275
- Astros in 7: +200
The good news is any World Series betting pick will payout better than even money. The bad news is Astros believers missed the boat for, especially lucrative odds when they were down 3-1. Their underdog lines at that time were astronomical. Kudos to anyone who rolled the dice on them.
Not surprisingly, since they are our Game 6 picks, we like the Astros here. The Braves bullpen has already shown signs of cracking and forcing them to navigate two more games is a giant-sized strain. Houston is facing a lot of the same challenges, but they've done a good job spreading around the burden per inning. Guys will be pitching on short rest, but for the most part, they won't be working their way off long, arduous stints on the mound.
Plus, like we said before, the offense really appears to have turned a corner. The Astros have now totaled 19 runs through each of the past two games. Seldom do teams erase 3-1 series deficits, but this Houston squad feels like an exception.
OSB Prediction: Houston Astros (+200)
World Series MVP Prediction
Here are the latest World Series MVP betting odds for the top-15 candidates
- Jorge Soler: +500
- Freddie Freeman: +600
- Austin Riley: +600
- Adam Duvall: +900
- Jose Altuve: +1000
- Michael Brantley: +1000
- Travis d'Arnaud: +1000
- Eddie Rosario: +1200
- Kyle Tucker: +1600
- Ian Anderson: +1600
- Carlos Correa: +1800
- Yuli Gurriel: +1800
- Ozzie Albies: +3300
- Yordan Alvarez: +4000
- Max Fried: +4000
- Dansby Swanson: +4000
Your World Series MVP prediction should always come from the team you expect to win it all. It rarely goes to someone from the losing side.
And because we continue to have the Astros taking home the hardware, we like Kyle Tucker (+1600) for the honors.
Don't let his odds fool you. They're inflated because Houston trails Atlanta 3-1 and oddsmakers and bettors alike know MVPs tend to come from champions. But if you believe the Astros can pull this out, he has been their most valuable bat by far, pacing all everyday hitters in on-base percentage and ranking second in slugging percentage.
OSB Prediction: Kyle Tucker (+1600)
