This week sees the series finale between the two AL West rivals the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners. Ohtani and the Angels will be looking to bounce back from yesterday's 8-2 loss to the Mariners.

Before we continue we must advise you to check out our MLB Betting Guide which will help you prepare for any MLB props you may be interested in.

Shohei Ohtani is the most exciting player in all of baseball right now. As good as he is behind the plate, he may be an even more impressive pitcher, so anytime he's on the mound is must-see TV.

His development into one of the game's premier pitchers has been fascinating to watch. Here he is on opening day overpowering hitters with 100+ MPH pitches.

Despite Ohtani's excellence all over the diamond, the Angels have not been able to take advantage of it.

In the aforementioned game, Ohtani struck out 10 batters, with 3 walks, and gave up zero runs in 6 innings yet the Angels managed to lose the game 2-1.

This game should be a great matchup because as exciting as Ohtani the player is, the Mariners team might be the only team that can match that level of excitement.

After ending their postseason drought last season, the team has title aspirations on its mind. Leading the excitement for the Mariners is reigning AL Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez.

Despite the fanfare and hype Rodriquez and the Mariners have struggled out of the gate, losing four of their last five games.

Chris Flexen will take the mound for the Mariners against the Angels. He has been impressive in his career against the AL West rival, posting a 3-1 record with a 3.27 ERA along with 23 strikeouts in 8 appearances.

Ohtani has never lost to the Mariners, posting a 4-0 record with a 1.66 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 6 appearances. Something has to give in this series finale showdown between the two teams.

First 5 innings

If you're interested in betting on the Angels or Ohtani I have two bets I would recommend for you.

I wouldn't be able to recommend the Angels on the money line due to the inconsistency of their bullpen, but if you're willing to back Ohtani, you can bet on Angel's first 5 innings run line.

Pitching Props

The other prop bet I would recommend is Ohtani strikeouts. Strikeouts are always fun to bet on because it's one of the most dependable prop bets in the game.

StrikeoutsBovadaBetOnlineBetUS
Ohtani O 7.5-115-115-115
Ohtani U 7.5-105-105-105

Oddsmakers will set this total at 7.5 strikeouts and based on what we've seen, I would smash the over on that total.

Shohei Ohtani Over 7.5 strikeouts

-115

In case you would like a reminder of what Ohtani did to the A's to start the season:

Total Runs

While I would love to recommend the Under in this game, I would recommend against it. MLB has implemented rule changes to increase offense, which seems to be working.

Scoring is up across the league, and I know most bettors are just going to look at this matchup and automatically hit the Under on the total.

Total RunsBovadaBetOnlineBetUS
Over 7-120-118-120
Under 7Even-102Even

This is going to drive the number down significantly. A total of 7 is going to be too low, these teams have good lineups and should be able to get on base and put up runs. The over will be the play in this game.

Mariners and Angels Over 7 Runs
Bovada
-120

Best Bet

As much as I would like to advise you to bet on a side or a total in this game, I only have confidence in Shohei Ohtani's strikeouts. The best bet for this game is the over on Shohei Ohtani strikeouts.

Shohei Ohtani Over 7.5 strikeouts
Bovada
-115
