Spencer Strider
Strider swiftly established himself as the premier pitcher in baseball. His pitching style is that of an absolute fireballer.
He consistently delivers strikes and overpowers hitters with his velocity, even when facing unfavorable counts.
In the previous season, Strider boasted the highest strike rate in the league and an exceptional ability to induce swinging strikes, achieving this feat over 20% of the time.
To put it in perspective, no other pitcher even came close, with the next highest at 17.5%.
Moreover, Strider displayed impeccable control, leading the league in strikeout-to-walk ratio, showcasing his mastery on the mound.

While his ground ball rate might not be as high as some would prefer, Strider compensates with his exceptional skill in preventing batters from making contact.
Only Blake Snell surpassed him in this aspect last season.
Assuming good health, Strider appears poised to lead the majors in strikeouts, benefiting from the support of what is projected to be the highest-scoring offense in MLB.
Zack Wheeler
Zack Wheeler (+800) is the pitcher with the second-best odds for the National League Cy Young Award in 2024.
Wheeler is currently a key player for the Philadelphia Phillies, having signed a five-year contract in December 2019.
His standout year came in 2021 when he led the NL in strikeouts and earned an All-Star nod.
This exceptional performance led to Wheeler being named to the ALL-MLB Second Team and finishing as the runner-up in the Cy Young voting that season.
However, in the past two years, Wheeler's performance has shown a decline.

While he posted a 2.78 ERA in 2021, it slipped to 2.82 in 2022 and further to 3.61 last season. To re-enter the Cy Young conversation, Wheeler must rediscover the form that made him a top contender in 2021.
Logan Webb
Webb may not have the flash of other top aces, but his effectiveness shines through in the perfect setting for his pitching style.
Last season, no starter in the majors induced grounders as frequently as Webb, boasting an impressive 62.7% ground ball rate. In comparison, no other starter even reached the 60% mark.
There's optimism that Webb can reach even greater heights this season.
With the Giants' offseason additions, such as Matt Chapman, one of the league's best defensive players, Webb is poised to see even more of the ground balls he generates turn into outs.
Additionally, the improved lineup featuring Chapman, Jorge Soler, and Jung Hoo Lee should provide Webb with more run support, potentially translating into more wins.
If Webb can lower his ERA and benefit from an enhanced supporting cast that converts quality starts into victories, he's undoubtedly a strong contender for the Cy Young.

Tyler Glasnow
Tyler Glasnow, another new addition to the LA Dodgers, is listed at +1400 to potentially secure his first Cy Young award this season.
Entering his ninth MLB season, Glasnow previously played for the Pirates and the Rays. Despite missing last season's start, he earned a 10-7 record with a 3.53 ERA in 2023.

With a roster already filled with stars, Glasnow should feel some relief from the pressure.
However, achieving a career year in his debut season with a new team will undoubtedly be challenging.
Dylan Cease
The Padres acquired Dylan Cease to fill the void left by Blake Snell, the 2023 NL Cy Young winner.
Cease, a former AL Cy Young runner-up has recorded at least 200 strikeouts in the last three seasons.
While his performance dipped slightly last year, his potent fastball/slider combination sets him apart.
Cease's affordability and remaining team control make him an attractive addition to the Padres.
