With golfās āLongest Dayā in the rear-view mirror, the entire field is set for the 2021 US Open. It is a stacked field as always, with the Brooks Koepka versus Bryson DeChambeau rivalry, Jon Rahm and Phil Mickelson as the most prominent stories going in. Those are not the only golfers we highlight in our US Open 2021 betting predictions.
Picks to win the 2021 US Open

Jon Rahm has won at Torrey Pines Before
After a bizarre turn of events at the 2021 Memorial Tournament ā where Jon Rahm, as the leader, was forced to withdraw from the event after a positive Covid-19 test, he enters the US Open as the one of golf betting favourite. Rahm has yet to win a Major in his career, but he certainly has the talent to win one.
Rahm has won at Torrey Pines before. He shot three strokes (-13) better than Charles Howell III and Pan Cheng-Tsung to win the Farmers Insurance Open in 2017. His score when he won is not even the best he has ever shot at Torrey Pines. In 2020, Rahm finished second after shooting -14. He also tied for the best round of the tournament in 2020 with a 65.
Chasing and making history. A week to remember!! Congratulations @PhilMickelson

Rahm looked as good as ever before his exit at the 2021 Memorial Tournament. His -18 score after three rounds was five strokes better than what the eventual winner finished with at the event. He should fine and cleaned to go for the 2021 US Open, making him our top choice to win the event and his first Major.
Brooks Koepka Can Win His Third US Open
You could say Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka are 1a and 1b going into the 2021 US Open Championship. Koepka has been unparalleled at Majors since 2017, scoring a cumulative score to par of -84. The next best golfers ā Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama ā have a cumulative score to par of -25.
Koepkaās ability to perform at Majors makes him always a threat to win. His health is also much better than it was earlier in the season. He looked nearly 100% at the 2021 PGA Championship, where he finished in second place. A few more weeks since then to get to 100%, and he could be walking off Torrey Pines with his third US Open.
Best Underdogs at Torrey Pines
If you are looking for value at Torrey Pines, the guys below are the guys we are backing on June 17.
Best Underdogs | |||
---|---|---|---|
Will Zalatoris | +2800 | +2800 | +2800 |
Tony Finau | 3500.00 | 3500.00 | 3500.00 |
Phil Mickelson | +3300 | +3300 | +3300 |
Tony Finau a Great Mid-Range Underdog to Bet at the US Open
Tony Finau is having plenty of success this season on the PGA Tour. Finau has finished in the top ten seven times already this season, which includes a second-place at Torrey Pines (the Farmers Insurance Open) back in January. He also mustered a solid eighth-place finish at the 2020 US Open.
Finauās second at Torrey Pines is not his only successful round at the Southern California golf course. He has played there seven times in his professional career. He has made the cut and finished no worse than 25th in those seven appearances. Including this year, he has finished four rounds at Torrey Pines in sixth place or better.
Finau is due to win a tournament, and at the golf betting odds currently available ā plus his success at Torrey Pines, he is worth betting will win the 2021 US Open.
Will Zalatorisā Breakout Season Could Continue with a Major
Will Zalatoris has been a hot name on the PGA Tour this season, and it makes sense why. The 24-year-old has been playing some great golf since the 2020 US Open. Starting with a sixth there, Zalatoris has seven top-10 finishes culminating with a second-place at the Masters and eighth at the PGA Championship.
He finished tied for seventh at Torrey Pines in January. He shot -8 for the tournament and was one of the few guys to shoot all four rounds under par. If he can build off his performance at Torrey Pines and newfound success at Majors, he is the best underdog to bet to win the 2021 US Open.
Phil Mickelson Has History at Torrey Pines
If Phil Mickelsonās age proves numbers are not that important, then why not consider Philās (ancient) history at Torrey Pines. Phil has three wins at Torrey Pines ā winning the Buick Invitational in 1993, 2001, and 2001. Since the tournament name changed to the Farmers Open in 2010, Phil has three top-20 finishes, including a second in 2011.
Torrey Pines is the home course of Phil Mickelson. He knows it better than anyone except for maybe Tiger Woods. With the fans back and backing Phil all the way, he could finally capture the one Major escaping him his entire career (Phil has finished second at the US Open six times). Also, make sure you key an eye on Philās odds, as the public will likely move them as the tournament approaches.
