In the 2025 Masters golf picks, oddsmakers are seeing Scottie Scheffler emulating the legendary Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus. Scheffler is the defending Masters champion. He's also won two of the past three tournaments at the first major of the PGA Tour season.

The last golfer to win the Masters three times in four years was Nicklaus (1963-65-66). Nicklaus tied for second in 1964.

Scheffler didn't achieve that, tying for 10th in 2023. However, oddsmakers are expecting him to follow in Nicklaus' legendary footsteps and win at Augusta for the third time in four tournaments. He's set as the +450 favorite entering the event.

Masters Best Bets

The Masters is the only tournament among golf's four majors to be held at the same location, the Augusta National Golf Club. The final round is traditionally played on the second Sunday in April.

Let's have a look at the top contenders in the Masters golf picks for this year's tournament.

Scottie Scheffler (+450)

There's something about majors that bring out the best in Scheffler. He's finished in the top 10 in 10 different majors and has never wound up outside the top 20 in five appearances at Augusta.

However, he sliced his hand on a wine glass during the offseason and has been slow to recover. The hands are kind of vital in the grip of a golf club.

Rory McIlroy (+650)

This is the one major to elude the grasp of the star from Northern Ireland. McIlroy's best showing at Augusta was a second in 2022. The last two tourneys, he missed the cut and finished tied for 22nd.

There's a sense that this could Rory's year. He's improved his course management and is coming off a big win in the Players Championship.

Bryson DeChambeau (+1400)

DeChambeau's most recent win was in a major, the 2024 US Open. He hasn't mastered the Masters, though.

DeChambeau did tie for sixth last year after missing the cut in 2022 and 2023. But that's the first time he's ever cracked the top 20 at Augusta.

Collin Morikawa (+1600)

Morikawa won the first time he played in the PGA and British Open Championships. He hasn't been as lucky at Augusta, but he's come close.

Morikawa finished tied for third in last year's Masters. He also has a fifth and a tie for 10th on his resume. He's only missed the top 20 once in five Augusta appearances.

Jon Rahm (+1600)

The Spaniard won at Augusta in 2023. He's played in eight Masters, posting three top-five and five top-10 finishes.

On the other hand, Rahm was tied for 45th in last year's Masters. In fact, he hasn't won in North America since his 2023 Masters victory.

Ludvig Aberg (+1700)

Last year, playing in his first Masters - and first major, for that matter - Aberg finished second behind Scheffler. Granted, he was four strokes off the pace, but still, to be second-best in your first appearance on a major stage is going to raise eyebrows.

The Swede already has a win this year in the Genesis Invitiational. He's currently leading the PGA Tour money list.

Augusta Longshots To Consider

The only Japanese player to win a major, 2021 Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama (+3500) already has a win this year in the Sentry. Jordan Spieth, the 2015 Masters winner, is also available at a betting line of +3500.

There's a litany of former Masters champions to consider at +8000 - Phil Mickelson (2004, 2006, 2010), Sergio Garcia (2017) and Patrick Reed (2018).

Masters Prop Bets

At Bovada, there are exact event round score props on many leading players. For instance, Scheffler to shoot 72-71-70-69 over the four rounds is offered at a betting line of +100000.

Scheffler is also the +1200 favorite to be the Masters first round leader at BetUS. Other props available at betUS include Rahm at +320 to finish as the top LIV golfer. McIlroy is given +5500 odds to record a hole in one during the tournament. No is the -600 betting choice on whether it will require a playoff to determine the Masters winner.

Masters Golf Picks

As much as it's difficult to bet against Scheffler in any major, let alone at Augusta, if McIlroy is ever going to win the Masters, this feels like it could be his year.
