The majors are long over, the Presidents Cup has been decided, but don't go thinking that there's nothing left to bet where the PGA Tour is concerned. In reality, there's some serious action still ongoing and it's only beginning to heat up.

The PGA Tour players ranked 51st and higher are in the midst of the FedEx Cup Fall. They are battling for a top-60 placing. Such a finish will ensure those golfers of spots in all of next year's PGA Tour signature events.

This week's stop is the inaugural Black Desert Championship. This 72-hole event at the Black Desert Resort Golf Course in Ivins, Utah is the first Tour stop in Utah since 1963.

Keith Mitchell will be teeing it up as the +1600 favorite to win the tournament. Currently 66th in FedEx Cup standings, a win here would do wonders for Mitchell's Tour future.

PGA Tour Black Desert Championship Best Bets

Minus the big-name players, there's certainly a more balanced field at the Black Desert Championship. Many of these players have never won a PGA Tour event. It might not be a bad play to wager on some hungry golfer seeking their first career title.

Keith Mitchell (+1600)

A bogey on the 72nd hole last week cost Mitchell a spot in the Sanderson Farms Championship playoff. He came into the final round holding the tournament lead.

Mitchell has finished 12th or better in each of his past three tournaments. He's been among the top-20 finishers in five of the past six events in which he's made the cut.

Seamus Power (+2200)

The Irish player was finishing strongly in last week's tournament. He shot a four-under par final round to finish in a tie for 11th.

Power was 10th in shots gained from tee to green, but only 35th in putting. If he gets the short stick going, he'll be a contender here.

Patrick Fishburn (+2500)

It's a homecoming for Utahn Fishburn. Will there be a home-course advantage? Sitting 85th in the FedEx Cup Fall standings, he's in need of a strong tournament.

Fishburn has made the cut in three of his past four tournaments and finished double-digits under par in each of those events.

Beau Hossler (+2800)

Losing in a playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Hossler was uncharacteristically consistent off the tee. He wound up seventh overall in strokes gained tee to green during the tournament.

That performance was moving Hossler from 87th to 68th in the FedEx Cup standings. Another strong week and he'll be among the coveted top 60.

Black Desert Championship Longshots To Consider

American Michael Thorbjornsen (+3000), 23, was eighth at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He was second in shots gained off the tee and seventh overall in putting during that event. Eleventh in last week's Tour stop. Patrick Kizzire (+5000) was a winner last month at the Procore Championship.

If you're a sucker for inspirational stories, look no further than Bud Cauley (+5000). He missed three years of Tour play following a horrible car accident. Cauley has never won on a Tour event. He does have plenty of top-10 showings, including a tie for fifth in last week's Sanderson Farms Championship

Black Desert Championship Prop Bets

Both BetUS and Betonline are offering tournament matchup props on the Black Desert Championship. These are head-to-head showdowns in which you're wagering on the golfer you think will record the lower score.

BetUS is showing Hossler as the -120 favorite over Griffin in their tourney matchup, Griffin is set at even money in the line.

Seamus Power To be be low European player in Black Desert Championship
Bovada
+350

Among props on offer at Bovada, Mitchell (+1200) and Hossler (+1800) are the best bets to be the low American player. Power (+350) is favored to be the European player with the lowest tournament score.

PGA Tour Black Desert Championship Pick

In what can only be described as a wide-open field, it's the wide fairways of the Black Desert Resort Golf Course that could prove to be the difference maker.

Beau Hossler To win Black Desert Championship
Bovada
+2800

For a player such as Hossler, who tends to spray the ball around off the tee, he'll find this layout very forgiving. Coming off last week's strong second-place showing, bet him to go one better this week.
