2022 RBC Canadian Open; All You Need To Know
The course in use this week is St Georgeās in the Toronto suburbs. The club was built in 1929 by an Englishman by the name of Robert Home Smith, from Stratford-upon-Avon, and has proved its worth by standing the test of time for over 90 years now.Ā
The last time the Canadian Open was held here was back in 2010 when it was won by Carl Pettersson. The Swede shot aĀ course record 60Ā in the 3rd Round on his way to the win.Ā
It is a tree-lined course with plenty of bunkers, but there are no large water hazards to cause the players any problems. The course length is just over 7000 yards, and it's a Par 71.Ā

Players To Watch This Week
Right, we have a tight lineup in the betting to win the RBC Canadian Open. Not much is separating Scheffler, Thomas, McIlroy, and Smith in the betting.Ā Are any of the main four good value though?Ā I think they are, especially Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas.
Rory McIlroy @ +900
McIlroy is in good form.Ā In his last four competitions, he has finished T18, 8th, 5th, and 2nd. Two of those top 10 finishes were in major championships.
In the tournament match-up market,Ā McIlroy is -129 to beat Cameron Smith, and I think that's an excellent bet.Ā Also, donāt be put off backing Rory to win outright.
Justin Thomas @ +900Ā
Another man in great form,Ā Justin Thomas has just won the US PGA. That came on the back of T5 in the AT&T Byron Nelson. He did miss the cut at the recent Charles Schwab Challenge, but I wouldnāt read much into that!
Why? Well, because he has the lowest average score on the tour since February 1st this year. At the moment,Ā Thomas is averaging 68.91, which beats Scottie Scheffler, who is second at 69.23.
Corey Conners @ +2000
Corey Connors is having a solid, if unspectacular season. He has been a frequent name on leaderboards up and down the country, but as yet hasnāt quite managed to still be in the reckoning come to the closing holes.
This is his home tournament.Ā And what better place to get that win that his form of late suggests is just around the corner.Ā At odds of +2000, I think Corey Connors is worth a small wager.
Chris Kirk @ +4000
Finally, Iām throwing in what I regard asĀ my outside value bet. I except that Kirk is far from an obvious bet. He is, afterall, 66 in the world and what you might regard as a guy who makes up the numbers.
But he did have an excellent week at the US PGA, finishing fifth, just two shots behind winner Justin Thomas.Ā A bit of a stab in the dark, but Chris Kirk at +4000 is worth a small wager.Ā Ā
