The first event after a golf major can often feel like a comedown, but don’t be too disheartened as the 2022 RBC Heritage is still boasting 10 of the world’s top 20 players.
In action this week will be many of the USA 2021 Ryder Cup team such as Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, and Daniel Berger. All key names who are expected to feature in the next golf major, the 2022 US Open.
As well as those big names, we also have Shane Lowry, Matthew Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Smith in town, for what promises to be an exciting competition.

About the RBC Heritage
The course is 7121 yards in length. Designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus, the Par 71 course is one of the shortest on the PGA circuit. Smaller in size, the Harbour Town links course has tighter fairways and smaller greens, meaning accuracy over power is more important this coming week.
It will certainly be a change in conditions to the wide and welcoming fairways of the Augusta National that the players were performing on last week.
- Competition; RBC Heritage
- Where; Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head, South Carolina
- When; Thursday, April 14th, 2022 - Sunday, April 17th, 2022
- Time; 8 am ET
- Course Length; 7121 Yards
- Par; 71
Despite the overhanging trees and narrow fairways, the Harbour links isn't the beast we're led to believe it is. The course has an average rank on the PGA Tour for difficulty in finding the fairways. And as you read on you will see this is further backed up by the scoring across the past couple of years.
Who Is The Defending Champion?
The defending champion is Stewart Cink. The then 41-year-old won with a mammoth 19 under par score of 265. The veteran American did have to break a couple of records en route to his third win at this venue.
First, Cink broke the 36-hole record held by Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson, and then he also beat the 54-hole record of 197 shots, held by Justin Leonard since 2002. Go back another 12 months, and 2020 winner Webb Simpson carded a record score of 262, which equates to 22 under par. Proving low scoring is more than possible on this course.
How to bet on Golf?
The main golf betting market is betting on the outright winner of the tournament. The outright winner betting market in golf can be very open, which allows us to hedge our picks (pick more than one winner).
Our sportsbooks reviews page has a load more recommended top bookmakers sites. Using multiple bookmakers' sites enables you to find the best golf betting odds on your chosen picks, rather than just limiting yourself to one lot of sportsbook odds.
Alternative golf betting markets are to make the cut, hole in one, and you can bet on who will be the leader at the end of 18 holes, 36 holes, and 54 holes. Before a competition starts, you can also bet on head-to-head markets.

The two in-form players heading into the competition who offer the best value for me are Shane Lowry at +2200 and Corey Connors at +2500. Both are in form, and both offer better value as they are in that group just outside of the main favorites.
Lowry has just finished T3 at the Masters and is on a run of form before that which reads T12 at the Valspar, T13 at the Players, and 2nd at the Honda Classic. A win for the Irishman could be just around the corner and I’m happy to have a wager on Shane Lowry at +2200.
I’m also of the opinion that the +260 on Lowry to finish in the top 10 with BetUS is a bet well worth taking as well.
My second selection is Corey Conners. The Canadian finished T6 at the US Masters, which is his third top 10 finish at Augusta in three years, highlighting what a steadily improving golfer he is.
Results have been solid if not spectacular before the Masters, with a T35 finish at the Valero Texas Open, and a T26 finish at the Players. In the Arnold Palmer Invitational at the start of March, Conners finished T11.
At odds of +260, I’m going with Corey Conners to finish in the top 10 at the RBC Heritage. If you feel braver, I’m not against a small wager on him winning outright at +2800 as well.
