2023 F1 Dutch Grand Prix Betting Picks

Formula 1 returns this weekend with the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix taking place at the Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands. Max Verstappen is favored to win yet again. This week, he is -400. But what are the best value bets? Here we tell you in our latest Formula 1 betting picks.

  • What; 2023 Dutch Grand Prix - Round 14
  • Where; CM.com Circuit Zandvoort, Netherlands
  • When; Sunday, August 27th, 2023
  • Time; 9 am ET
  • Laps; 72
  • Race Length; 306.587 km

Last year this Grand Prix was dominated by the home favorite, Max Verstappen. The two-time world champion took the pole position, had the fastest lap, and won the race. Second place went to George Russell of Mercedes, with Charles Leclerc completing the podium places.

No competition for Max Verstappen

This year Max Verstappen heads to his home Grand Prix on the back of eight consecutive Formula 1 wins. In recent races, he has been completely obliterating the opposition.

Of the 12 completed rounds of races this season, Verstappen has won 10, and Sergio Perez the other two. Red Bull, and in particular, Max Verstappen have been dominant.

There is no longer a betting market to win the F1 Driver’s Championship. It was taken down by the bookmakers weeks ago. Verstappen started the season as the heavy odds-on-betting favorite. And even then, he wasn’t any value to bet on.

Betting to win the Drivers Championship w/o Max Verstappen

The main market available now is betting to win the Driver’s Championship without Max Verstappen. Even in this market, Red Bull leads the way. Sergio Perez is the favorite at -400, with Lewis Hamilton now his only realistic contender at Formula 1 Betting Odds +275. Behind Hamilton is the fading Fernando Alonso at +3300. Lando Norris is at +10000, and Charles Leclerc is at +25000.

Betting to win Constructors Championship w/o Red Bull

Elsewhere, and in the betting to win the Constructors Championship without Red Bull, it’s Mercedes who leads the way at -350, with Ferrari their closest rival at +350.

Ahead of the restart, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has stated that his Ferrari team should be looking to beat Mercedes to second place in the Constructors Championship. At the moment, Mercedes sit on 247 points, with Aston Martin on 196 and Ferrari on 191.

It would be a big ask for the Prancing Horse to achieve this. But with upgrades to the Ferrari on the way, and Mercedes suffering with their bumping issues again in the last race, the prospect of Ferrari finishing second can’t be discounted.

Betting to win the 2023 Dutch F1 Grand Prix

As mentioned, Max Verstappen has won the last eight Grand Prix races. As a result, the best Formula 1 online betting sites have him at -400 to win Round 14 in the Netherlands this weekend.

This is the shortest price he has been to win a race all season. And at those odds, the bookmakers are kindly asking us not to bet on him.

Behind Verstappen is Sergio Perez at +1100. Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris are both next at +1600, with Charles Leclerc at +2500. These are ridiculous odds for what is supposed to be an open competition!

Our Dutch Grand Prix Betting Picks

It’s fair enough to back Max Verstappen to win this weekend. He’s recently been unbeatable if his car performs to standard and no one impedes him, so why not this weekend?

-400

Anyway, we’re looking elsewhere for our picks, as backing Verstappen at -400 is too short for our liking. The Ductchman is all but certain to win, but all it takes is for a touch of wheels somewhere, and our bet is doomed.

Betting to Finish on the Podium

In the betting to finish on the podium, Verstappen is at -900, with Sergio Perez at -200. Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris are +120, with Charles Leclerc at +225. Oscar Piastri is +350, with Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso at +600.

Charles Leclerc has been talking up Ferrari’s chances in the mid-season break. He finished third in his last race in Belgium, and on the same weekend, Mercedes struggled. We think at +225, Charles Leclerc to finish on the podium is a good pick.

We also like the look of Oscar Piastri in the same market. The McLaren driver has been performing well in recent weeks and only narrowly missed out on the top three at Silverstone, where he finished fourth just behind Lewis Hamilton.

He was also fifth in Hungary, but in his last race in Belgium, the Australian recorded a DNF. Oscar Piastri will be keen to put the record straight this week, and we’re going with Oscar Piastri to finish in the top three for our second F1 betting pick.
