The 2024 League of Legends World Championship Grand Final matchup is officially set. Bilibili Gaming and T1 will be taking the stage this Saturday, with a ton of money and acclaim on the line. Who is going to take home one of the highest honors in all of the Esports world? Let’s figure it out together.
- What: 2024 League of Legends World Championship Final
- When: Saturday, November 2, 2024
- Start Time: 10 a.m. EST
- Where: Peninsula Square, London
- Venue: The O2 Arena
- Prize Purse: $445,000 for first place, $356,000 for second place
T1 and Bilibili Gaming have faced off on four occasions so far this year. They have split those matchups with two victories apiece. However, Bilibili Gaming performed better during the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational. On the flip side, though, T1 turned in the superior outing at the 2024 Esports World Cup.
League of Legends World Championship 2024: Bilibili Gaming vs T1 Betting Lines
With the margins on paper so thin, we would expect the latest League of Legends betting odds to be just as tight. As you can see below, the LoL World Championship betting odds are exactly that:
T1 (-125) is currently favored, but with Bilibili Gaming (-105) paying out less than even money themselves, it isn’t by much. Of course, we strongly recommend that you continue refreshing these online esports betting odds right up until you officially submit your wager. While we have less than a week to go, that is still more than enough time for the best esports betting sites in the business to continue making adjustments.
We have already seen some movement, actually, following the end of the League of Legends Semifinals. T1 opened as a (slightly) heavier favorite before more money started being funneled toward Bilibili Gaming. To this point, this action has impacted Bilibili Gaming’s odds more than the T1 betting lines. But if more money continues to flow in for the underdog, we could see a shift in T1’s current advantage.
The Case for T1 to Beat Bilibili Gaming
T1 has looked unstoppable ever since Faker recovered from a hand injury that was crimping their play style. Their aggression has kicked up a notch—noticeably so. During the League of Legends World Championships, they are drawing first blood on more than 58 percent of their matches.
This group has also done an exceptional job dictating the pace of play. Controlling the first half of the game has been their M.O., and it’s paying off in a huge way. T1 is winning 88.9 percent of the rounds in which they hold a lead after 15 minutes.
Getting off to strong starts will be a big deal versus Bilbili Gaming. While they also do a good job setting the tone for stages, they have been a little more rickety out of the gate. Bilibili Gaming is clearing just over 50 percent of their First Towers compared to 58-plus percent for T1.
The Case for Bilibili Gaming to Beat T1
Can Bilibili Gaming keep pace with T1’s torrid start to so many rounds? That is the main question we are left asking.
Overall, there is room for skepticism. But Bilbili Gaming has turned up the heat since the start of the LoL World Championship playoffs. They are drawing first blood 60 percent of the time. What’s more, they have bagged 18 or more kills in four of their past five battle rounds.
Granted, they have suffered from some inconsistency. They actually have a negative tower differential at the 15-minute mark for the tournament. But their closes to maps have been exceptionally strong. If they can fend off T1’s initial blitz, their course maneuvering over the latter half of matches will serve them well.
Official League of Legends World Championship Prediction
This is a match that we could see taking a while to decide. The top online sportsbooks in the United States have painted this as something nearing a coin toss, and we are inclined to agree.
T1’s hot starts certainly give them the potential to rattle off a stretch that submarines Bilibili Gaming early, but the latter’s propensity to limit their number of overall deaths is not something to dismiss.
Still, we can’t shake what happened at the 2024 League of Legends World Cup. T1 took care of business against Bilibili Gaming, exploiting many of the shortcomings the team still deals with today. That doesn’t necessarily mean they are an inarguable foil. But the way they outpaced Bilibili Gaming from the jump sticks with us.
On top of that, folks over at EGamersWorld also unearthed this gem: “T1 have never lost to a team from the LPL in the history of the Worlds championship series, and there have been 7 (!) such championships. T1 at Worlds is a completely different team than T1 during the LCK.”
We were already leaning towards T1 by a fairly slight margin. But this little factoid about how they adjust and ratchet up their play style in higher-stakes situations has us all the way sold.
