Sixteen teams will be competing in the first of two Rocket League Championship Series majors this season. Who're the best bets to win it all?

The first major of the 2024 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) is officially upon us. And boy, oh boy, is it shaping up to be a humdinger.

  • What: 2024 Rocket League Championship Series Major 1
  • Dates: Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, March 31
  • Where: K.B Hallen Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Total Prize Pool: $255,000
  • Reigning Champion: Team Vitality

Karmine Corp (+250) is being billed as the odds-on favorite to win the Rocket League Championship Series Major 1—and by a fairly comfortable margin. But there are a host of other contenders more than their worth salt. First, though, here’s a look the latest online eSports betting odds for the 2024 RLCS Major 1:

Please keep double-checking these RLCS betting odds right up until you submit your wagers. Our Rocket League Championship Series 2024 betting odds are accurate entering Wednesday, March 27. That gives the best online sportsbooks in the United States plenty of time to shift their lines before the competition opens on Thursday, March 28.

The format for RLCS Major 1 2024 will be as follows: It begins with a “Swiss” stage that consists of five rounds playing out from March 28 until March 30. Each of these matches will be best-of-five games. Teams must win three matches to advance to the playoffs. The teams that lose three matches get bounced from RLCS Major 1. A total of eight squads make the playoffs. From there, the playoffs will take place on March 30 and March 31, and they are a single-elimination format. The last team standing will be declared the champion of RLCS Major 1 2024.

So, which squads are the best contenders from this year’s bunch? Let’s find out!

Should Karmine Corp be Favored to Win the 2024 Rocket League Championship Series Major 1?

Karmine Corp (+250) enters the RLCS Major 1 as the standalone favorite to win it all at the BetOnline sportsbook. And mind you, they’re not the only RLCS betting site that has KC listed as such.

Of course, Karmine Corp’s standing has taken some by surprise, mostly because Vitality (+500) won the festivities last year. Still, anyone who looks into Karmine Corp’s body of work during qualifiers won’t be the least bit surprised. Not only did they capably handle the toughest region on the docket (European), but they won nearly 75 percent of all their matches during that time.

Can Vitality Repeat as RLCS Major 1 Champs?

A rough showing by their standards in the qualifying rounds is tamping down the RLCS Major 1 odds for Vitality (+500). And yet, they still find themselves in the top tier of contenders. Nerd Street’s Brian Bencomo explained why:

Alexis "zen" Bernier & Co. were dominant from the Spring Major through RLCS Worlds last year, so we know they have what it takes to win an international title. Plus, they looked like they were peaking later in the qualifiers. They had a runner-up finish in Qualifier 3 and three of their last four losses have come against Karmine Corp.”

That recent track record against Karmine Corp doesn’t bode too well for Vitality. But there’s a chance they wouldn’t meet them until the Finals, which considerably increases the appeal on their 5-to-1 payout.

BDS Has a Case to be Favored Against Anyone

Numerous losses to Karmine Corp adversely impact BDS (+500) when it comes to projecting a champion. However, they really started tightening up their performance against other opponents later in the qualifying rounds.

On top of all that, BDS has a handful of team members with experience at the RLCS Major level, including a couple of names who have outright won competitions or finished as runner-ups.

Which Dark Horse Should You Monitor at the Rocket League Championship Series Major 1?

As many have noted, no team outside North America or Europe has ever won a Rocket League Championship Series major tournament. Most experts don’t see that trend stopping now.

Gen.G (+800) has been pegged as the only possible dark horse option by many, in no small part because they’re coming out of the North American bracket. However, Furia (+1500) could present an intriguing stab-in-the-dark option. If you’ll recall, they finished inside the top four at the RLCS World Championship in 2022. Though we’re nearly two years removed from that, the core of their group remains intact.

Who Will Emerge Victorious at the RLCS Major 1?

While BDS (+500), Vitality (+500) and even G2 Stride (+600) are worth consideration here, we have a hard time coming up with a reason for why Karmine Corp (+250) will not take home the hardware this weekend. They have been that much of an unstoppable force over the past few months.

KC’s unit is clicking to the point of domination at just the right time. They have not lost an entire match since September 2023, and their catalog of victories since then includes wins over most of their should-be top rivals at the RLCS Major 1.

Make no mistake, anything can happen once we reach the single-elimination portion of the playoffs. At this point, though, we'd be borderline floored if any other team was the last squad standing at the 2024 Rocket League Championship Series Major 1.

OSB Prediction: Karmine Corp (+250)
