It’s an absolutely crowded competition to win outstanding comedy series at the Emmys. As it stands, four previous Emmys winners — The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Atlanta, Barry, and Ted Lasso — are up for it. Here’s how the odds shake out:

We’re actually surprised Ted Lasso is only -150. For one, they’re the reigning champions of this category. And second, it’s 20 nominations show-wide is tied for second most of any series. As far as we can tell, it’s Zendaya’s award to lose for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She’s a staggering favorite as seen in the underneath betting lines:

Linney’s portrayal of a money-laundering, win-at-all costs widow has yet to be recognized by the Emmys despite a successful four-season run. At +700 odds, she’s worth taking a flyer bet on in case voters want to give her the perfect swan song.

What probably hurts Dopesick in this award is the show’s actual subject matter. Its real-life portrayal of America’s drug problem isn’t for the faint of heart. It just lacks any feel-good vibe to it — which is purposeful — that’s sometimes needed to sway votes in your favor. So yes, we’re going with the much more watchable-to-the-masses series, The White Lotus.
