Wrestlemania 39 Bets

WrestleMania 39 isn’t until April 1 — about seven months away — but that doesn’t mean betting futures for the wrestling event aren’t red-hot. In this article, we’re making hard predictions on WrestleMania 39 outcomes that can pay you big time in the betting markets. Read this for expert betting advice on the spectacle!

WrestleMania 39 Main Event Winner

Alright, this is a fun bet. Fun because there’s so many damn options with WrestleMania being seven months out. The top entertainment-based betting sites have released odds for a multitude of wrestlers, but the ones featured in the table are most favored to win the WrestleMania main event:

WrestlerBetOnlineBovadaGTBets
Roman Reigns-110-110-110
Cody Rhodes+100+100+100
The Rock+225+225+225
Drew McIntyre+475+475+475
Seth Rollins+600+600+600
Becky Lynch+800+800+800
Ronda Rousey+1000+1000+1000

Barring any major injuries or a catastrophic problem arising — both of which are entirely plausible — the WrestleMania main event is going to be one of two matches. The most box-office-worthy outcome is reigning world champion Roman Reigns against The Rock. If it falls though, Plan B is effectively Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes. But even then, that match hinges on Rhodes being healthy as he’s sidelined with a serious injury. Let’s break down each scenario to guide our bet.

Rock returning is completely dependent on his schedule — which is busy as one of the most well-known movie stars in the whole world. Not only that, but the XFL is expected to re-start during that April 2023 window when WrestleMania is. Still, wrestling is literally in The Rock’s blood. If there’s ever a match for The Rock to return to the squared circle, it’s this one against his own bloodline and at SoFI Stadium, which would surely break revenue records for the company. Almost 50 years old, The Rock is running out of time to make this match happen, if he truly wants to.

If Rock does un-retire, then it’s almost a guarantee that Reigns wins. Matter of fact, the whole purpose of a Rock comeback would be to “put over” Reigns as this generation’s top superstar — the same way The Rock was of his era. Rock has unselfishly done this before. Think Brock Lesnar and John Cena. If The Rock did the job to those guys, then surely he’d do it for his own cousin.

In the event Rock can’t do the match, Reigns vs. Rhodes is less of a guarantee of who wins. As mentioned, Reigns is being positioned at the face of this era, and guys like that rarely lose. But then again, whoever does beat Reigns — ending his 700-plus-day run as champion — is a “made man” career wise. Rhodes has proven himself a crowd favorite, a victory over Reigns could vault him into superstar status of his own, which is big money for WWE.

Our gut says The Rock makes his triumphant return next April. He lives in Los Angeles, a media capital of the world. WrestleMania 40 is in Philadelphia and that makes less sense for this mega-match. The now-or-never urgency of the situation pushes Rock back into WWE where he “passes the torch” to his younger family member. Put money on Reigns here!

WrestleMania 39 Opponent To Logan Paul

Ah, yes, the polarizing social media personality and boxer and now wrestler, Logan Paul is almost a lock to appear on WrestleMania. He has a contract with WWE and seemingly only appears in the marquee shows. There’s a whole betting market on who Paul’s WrestleMania opponent will be. Here’s the betting options:

WrestlerBetOnlineBovadaXbet
Sami Zayn+200+200+200
Pat McAfee+275+275+275
Chad Gable+375+375+375
Kevin Owens+550+550+550
Tommaso Ciampa+550+550+550
Dolph Ziggler+650+650+650

Paul has impressed every time he’s stepped in the ring, but make no mistake about it, he still needs to be guided by a veteran when wrestling. That’s why we’re ruling out Pat McAfee instantly.

To us, this bet really comes down to Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens. Both guys can not only carry Paul to a great match, but an entire feud since they each possess killer promo skills. Zayn was put in this role last year when he fought Johnny Knoxville so it’s obvious WWE brass trusts him with “outsiders” like Paul is. Moreover, Zayn can suffer a loss to Paul and not take a career hit unlike Owens who is guarded more in the company. Therefore, we’re throwing money on Zayn here.

Wrestlemania 39 Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey

Here’s another bout penciled into WrestleMania. With the show being a two-day event now, we could see Lynch vs. Rousey headlining the first night. If it happens, oddsmakers squarely believe Lynch would beat Rousey:

WrestlerBetOnlineBovadaBetNow
Becky Lynch-275-275-275
Ronda Rousey+180+180+180

We’re in complete agreement with the bookies. Rousey has lost her “shine” and is no longer the face of the women’s division. That role belongs to Lynch, who is back working as a face — a role that formerly made her the most popular wrestler, male or female, on the roster. If WWE wants to return her career to those lofty heights, she needs to start winning big-time matches, which this squarely falls into. So yes, we’re taking The Man to win this bout.
