MVG is on fire at the moment in the 2023 Premier League Darts season. The three times world champion has won the two previous nights from Dublin and Exeter. MVG's hot streak has also seen him open up a six points lead at the top of the Premier League Darts table.

With MVG already looking assured of his place on finals night, the best darts betting sites have him at just +140 to win the competition outright. The Dutchman is followed by Michael Smith who is +350, and Gerwyn Price at +400.

Price is followed by Jonny Clayton at +900, with Nathan Aspinall close behind at +1000. There’s then a bit of a gap before we get to Dimitri Van den Bergh at +1500, and the winless Peter Wright who is +1800. Chris Dobey is bottom of the betting pile at +5000.

Night Six Quarter-Finals Draw

Opening up proceedings are Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright. They are followed by Jonny Clayton who has drawn the short straw and takes on Michael van Gerwen in the second match of the night.

Chris Dobey has had a tough time of late, and he will hope his luck may change facing off against Nathan Aspinall. Then Michael Smith and Dimitri Van den Bergh complete the night’s quarter-final draw.

  • Gerwyn Price v Peter Wright
  • Michael van Gerwen v Jonny Clayton
  • Chris Dobey v Nathan Aspinall
  • Michael Smith v Dimitri Van den Bergh

MVG is favored to win on the night, and he is in good form. As well as winning the last two Premier League nights, he also got to the final of the UK Open last weekend, losing a last leg decider to Andrew Gilding. MVG will regard that as a competition that got away, and he will be looking to make amends for it.

Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith both fell in the last 32 in the same competition, and both have seemed a bit off the boil lately. So, we can only really go with an in-form van Gerwen to win again in Liverpool.

Now let’s take a look at the individual quarter-final matches.

Gerwyn Price -144 vs Peter Wright +124

Peter Wright had an improved weekend in the UK Open at Minehead, making it to the last 16, where he lost narrowly to Richie Burnett (10-8). Snakebite lost in the quarter-final stage in the Premier League again last week, losing 6-5 to Jonny Clayton.

As for Gerwyn Price, he was thrashed 6-3 at the same stage by MVG on Night Five. Surely Wright has to win this week?

MVG -240 vs Jonny Clayton +200

Michael van Gerwen is just too hot at the moment. Even if he fails to win on the night, the chances are he will at least make it through the first match of the night.

It’s tough on Clayton, but we’re taking van Gerwen (-1.5 legs) to win on the handicap spread at -139.

Chris Dobey +113 vs Nathan Aspinall -133

Chris Dobey managed a 10-6 win over Ryan Searle in the last 64 of the UK Open last weekend, but that was as good as things got for him as he lost 10-6 to Brendan Dolan in the last 32. As for Nathan Aspinall he made it to the last 8 where he lost 10-6 to MVG.

On form, there can only be one winner, we have to go for Nathan Aspinall.

Michael Smith -166 vs Dimitri Van den Bergh +146

Another player slightly out of sorts is Michael Smith. In the Premier League last week he lost to Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals. While in the UK Open, he lost 10-9 to Luke Humphries in the last 32, in what was one of the games of the weekend.

As for Van den Bergh, he lost 6-2 to Jonny Clayton in the semi-final on Night Five, and this after defeating Chris Dobey 6-3 in the quarter-final.

In the UK Open at the weekend, Van den Bergh made it to the semi-finals, where he lost 11-6 to MVG. The Belgian knocked out Richie Burnett (10-2), Gary Anderson (10-8), Mervyn King (10-8), and Gabriel Clemens (10-5) on route to the last four.

It’s a close call, but we’re going for Michael Smith. To make the bet better value, we’re taking Smith (-1.5) to win on the handicap spread at -108.
