Paris-Roubaix is one of cycling’s showpiece events. It’s also a one-of-a-kind race with the cobbled roads of northern France presenting a challenge like no other in one of the sports Spring Classics. Throw in the unpredictable northern European weather at this time of the year, and it makes the race a true spectacle.

The 2024 route is 259.9 km long. That makes the race 3.3 km longer than last year. In total, the cyclists will have to deal with 55.7 km of pavé, the longest amount in the past 30 years. It is 3.2 km more than in 2024.
Betting to win 2024 Paris-Roubaix
In the latest Paris Roubaix odds, Mathieu van der Poel is the +150 favorite to win the race. The Dutchman won this race in 2023 and given his current form on the circuit, he is an obvious betting favorite.
If the cycling betting odds are to be believed, then van der Poel’s closest rivals are Jasper Philipsen at +350 and Mads Pedersen at +650. Behind the leading trio of riders is a huge gap in the odds before we get to John Degenkolb at +1400 and Dylan Van Baarle and Filippo Ganna at +2500.

Now let’s take a closer look at some of the betting favorites to win the race.
Mathieu van der Poel +150
As we alluded to earlier, Mathieu van der Poel is an obvious favorite to win the 2024 Paris-Roubaix. Not only is he the defending champion from 2023, but he is also in red-hot form having won the Tour of Flanders last Sunday.
But van der Poel didn’t just win the Tour of Flanders, he smashed it. The Dutchman won his fifth career Monument race with an astonishing solo effort, riding away from the field with 45 km left to take the win by an amazing margin of 62 seconds.

This was the third time van de Poel had won the race. But none of his previous victories could surely eclipse this.
Jasper Philipsen +350
Belgian’s Jasper Philipsen won the first Monument race of 2024 when he defeated Michael Matthews and the No.1 ranked Tadej Pogačar - among others - in a group sprint to win the Milan-San Remo in mid-March.
Philipsen’s win was made all the more impressive as the race was the fastest in history, with the riders averaging over 46 kph through the six-and-a-quarter-hour ordeal. To still have the energy to hold off a top-class sprinter like Matthews and a solid all-round cyclist like Pogačar speaks volumes about the strength and durability of the 26-year-old.
Mads Pedersen +650
Making up the three favorites in the betting is Classic specialist Mads Pedersen. The 28-year-old Dane has never won any of the five Monument races. But despite this, the Lidl-Trek rider is well respected amongst his peers.
If there is any doubt about Pedersen’s quality due to him not having won a Monument, then bear in mind that he is a Grand Tour multi-stage winner. Pedersen also won the World Championship road race in 2019, the Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne in 2021, and just a couple of weekends ago, he defeated van der Poel in a two-way sprint to win the 2024 Gent–Wevelgem in Flanders Fields.
The win in Flanders is solid proof that the Dane is in good form and won't be intimidated by van der Poel.
Our 2024 Paris-Roubaix betting picks
Three years ago, Mathieu van der Poel was +500 to win this race. At the time, he only had one Monument win to his name. Since then, he has almost dominated, winning four of the 12 races since. And while that might not sound dominant, bear in mind that this is cycling. It’s a very open sport. So to have won 33% of the major races over the past two and a bit seasons is a staggering return.
We have to go with Mathieu van der Poel to win. All the evidence we have says he is the most likely winner.
The odds for a win for van der Poel might be a touch too short for some. We understand that. So if you are looking for an alternative betting pick, we would recommend Mads Pedersen.
He is too good at this format to not win a Monument race. The Dane also knows he has the beating of van der Poel. He did it just two weeks ago.
