Eight of the best ODI teams in the world will take part in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The event will be hosted in Pakistan and the UAE. India is the betting favorite to win the competition for a record third time. We tell you if they will do it in our latest cricket betting picks.

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy gets underway on February 19th. Eight of the best cricket-playing nations in the world will compete for the trophy over 15 matches.
The matches are 50-over per team One Day Internationals. The eight teams are broken up into two groups of four.
Group A:
- Bangladesh
- India
- New Zealand
- Pakistan
Group B:
- Afghanistan
- Australia
- England
- South Africa
The four teams will play round-robin against each other in each group, with the top two from both progressing to the semi-finals.
The competition will be held in Pakistan and the UAE. Pakistan was selected as the sole host nation. But India has refused to play in Pakistan, and will instead play all their matches in the UAE.
The 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy is the ninth. It very nearly didn’t happen. The 2017 edition was supposed to be the final time the event was held. However, the ICC has decided to revive the competition after an eight-year break.
Pakistan qualified as the hosts. The remaining seven places were filled by the seven highest-ranked teams at the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.
The hosts are also the last team to win the competition, thrashing India at the Oval in London by 180 runs.
2025 ICC Champions Trophy Winner Betting
In the latest cricket betting odds, India is the +175 betting favorite to win the 2025 Champions Trophy. Their closest rivals are Australia.
India and Australia currently hold both white-ball World Cups. India is the current T20 world champion and Australia are the 50-over ICC World Cup holders. They defeated India in the final in 2023.

Despite losing the 2023 ICC World Cup in their own backyard to Australia, India is the No.1 ranked team in the world in 50 Over cricket, and also the clear betting favorite to win the title.
The experienced Rohit Sharma is India’s captain. He has experienced world-class performers like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah in his team, as well as talents like Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh.
There are no obvious weaknesses in India’s game, this team is in its prime. And with this likely to be the last Champions Trophy for Sharma, Kohli, and one or two others, they will be determined to go out with a win.
Australia +350
Australia were already without their injured captain Pat Cummins, along with Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Marsh.
Adding to their problems, Mitchell Starc has now also withdrawn for personal reasons, meaning the Aussies are without their whole frontline pace attack that won them the 2023 ICC World Cup.

They are simply impossible to replace.
Steve Smith will lead the team as captain in the absence of Cummins. And in Travis Head, Australia will have a chance of chasing down any total. But it will be difficult to win without their world-class pace attack.
England +600
England have been shambolic in both white-ball formats in recent years. Brendon McCullum has been brought in to steady the ship, but he only started at the beginning of 2025, and so far, little has changed.
England has a lot of talented players. They can beat anybody on their day in a one-off match. The problem is they will probably struggle to get out of their group.
Anybody else catch the eye?
Bangladesh doesn’t look in the running, but Afghanistan is a dangerous team who may cause an upset, but will probably still struggle to reach the semi-final.
Pakistan are the defending champions, but are they consistent enough to put the run of wins together that is needed to win this trophy? If they can come through their group, they will be dangerous if they get their tails up.
New Zealand looks to be a team in transition. Again, another dangerous team that can beat anybody on their day. But they probably lack the depth to go all the way.
Finally, South Africa has explosive all-rounders and a top-quality all-round bowling attack. They just look like they lack that quality at the top of their batting. But outside of India and Australia, the Proteas look the best value bet.
Best bets
India is the team in the right place at the right time. And with Australia struggling with injuries and England with form, it’s India’s trophy to lose. Anything other than a second ICC title within 12 months will have to be classed as a failure.
