England vs. Australia T20 Series Winner Betting Picks

Old enemies England and Australia renew acquaintances this week when they face each other in a best-of-three T20 series. England is the host. But Australia is the bookmakers’ favorite to win the series. In our latest cricket betting picks we look ahead to the action and name our best bets.

  • What: Best of Three T20 Series
  • Who: England vs. Australia
  • Where: Southampton, Cardiff, and Manchester
  • When: Sept 11th - Sept 15th

England hosts Australia in a three-match T20 series. The series begins in Southampton on Wednesday, with matches to follow in Cardiff on Friday, and Manchester on Sunday.

England are the underdogs. They are missing a whole host of first-team regulars. But Australia are also without a couple of their gun bowlers, and the visitors will also need to acclimate to the English conditions.

It promises to be an exciting series. So let’s take a look at the betting and find the best value wagers on offer from the best cricket betting online sites.

England vs. Australia: T20 Series betting

Australia is the betting favorite to win the three-match series. Australia is -138 on the money line, and England is +110.

In the series correct score betting, Australia is +162 to win 2-1 and +400 to sweep the series 3-0.

England to win 2-1 is +187 and 3-0 is +500.

Travis Head is the +175 favorite to be the top Australian run scorer across the three-match series. Aussie skipper Mitchell Marsh is second favorite at +333, with exciting opening batter Jake Fraser-McGurk next at +450.

In bowling, Adam Zampa is +187 to be the top Australian wicket-taker. Josh Hazlewood, Sean Abbott, and Riley Meredith are +350 joint-second favorites to claim the most scalps over the three matches.

For England, stand-in skipper Phil Salt is the +250 favorite to be the top run scorer for the hosts. His closest rival is Will Jacks at +275. Also in the running to the top score are Liam Livingstone and Jordan Cox at +450.

The ever-green Adil Rashid is the favorite to be England’s top wicket-taker at +250. The explosive Jofra Archer is next at +333, with Reece Topley the third favorite at +450.

England vs. Australia series winner pick

England is without a whole host of first-team regulars.

Skipper Jos Buttler, one of the best white ball batters in the world, is missing, along with rising star Harry Brook.

There is no Ben Stokes in the lineup, and England has decided to move on from the experienced duo of Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali.

Missing from the bowling department are Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, and Chris Jordan. In comes Josh Hull, John Turner, Brydon Carse, and Saqib Mahmood as England look to the future.

Australia is moving on from the David Warner era. The opening batter retired when the Aussies exited the 2024 World Cup.

His place at the top of the order has gone to the exciting Jake Fraser-McGurk, who will make up a strong-looking Australian top three along with Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh.

In the bowling department, Australia is without Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and even Starc’s replacement as the spearhead of the attack, Spencer Johnson is out injured.

Despite this, we still think Australia will be too strong for England and will win the series. A bet on 2-1 or 3-0 to Australia looks better value than backing them to win outright at -138.

Josh Inglis to be the top Australian run scorer

Josh Inglis comes into the series against England in good form. The wicket-keeper batter only had the opportunity to bat twice in his three matches against Scotland last week, recording scores of 27 and 103 in his two knocks.

It was his 103 in the second match of the series that turned heads. His century came off just 43 balls, a record for an Australian batter. And although Scotland has far from the strongest bowling attack, the conditions were not batter-friendly, making his innings all the more remarkable.

Inglis was born in England but opted to play for Australia. He would love nothing more than to hammer that point home in this series.

At +500, Josh Inglis is our pick to be the top Australian run scorer against England.

Jacob Bethell to be top England run-scorer

It’s hard to know what bowling combinations England will try out, and the cricket betting odds on all the main picks like Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, and Reece Topley look a touch too short. The same applies in the betting to be the top run-scorer.

So for an English betting pick, we are instead going a bit leftfield.

Debutant, Jacob Bethell is likely to play all three matches as a batting all-rounder. There aren't many other batting options for the hosts.

Bethell has had an outstanding summer in white ball domestic cricket in England. He has performed well under pressure with the bat, scoring an impressive 46 not out against Trent Rockets in The Hundred, when his Birmingham Phoenix side was in big trouble.

As well as scoring important runs, Bethell also took important catches and although his bowling was under-used in the 2024 competition, he can bowl slow left-arm orthodox spin.

Bethell has shown he has the right temperament to go all the way to the top. Along with the fact there is no stand-out candidate to be the top English batter, Jacob Bethell is worth backing at +650.
