Naoya Inoue
When Naoya Inoue takes on Sam Goodman it will not only be his third fight in a calendar year, but his fourth in the past 13 months.
Starting in December 2023, Inoue defeated Marlon Tapales in this same arena with a 10th-round KO.
Inoue then defended his titles against Luis Nery in May, and TJ Doheny in September.
The win over Nery came via a 6th-round knockout. Sam Goodman traveled from Australia to watch the fight and attempt to secure his own shot at Inoue’s titles.

Inoue then stopped TJ Doheny by TKO in his most recent defense. A series of body shots was too much for the Irishman to handle, and the referee waved the fight off with Doheny down on one knee after just 16 seconds of the 7th round.
Inoue fights out of an orthodox stance. He is one of the most technically assured fighters in the world.
Also known as ‘The Monster’, Inoue possesses exceptional punching power. He boasts a career knockout-to-win percentage of 89.28 percent. In world title fights it increases to 91.30 percent.
Sam Goodman
Sam Goodman turned professional in 2018. A 2nd-round stoppage of Worawatchai Boonjan gave the Aussie his first win.
Goodman defeated Nort Beauchamp for the vacant Australian featherweight title in June 2021. That was his third fight as a professional.
He has been in the ring twice this year, defeating Mark Schleibs by TKO in March, and he beat Chainoi Worawut by unanimous decision in his most recent contest in July.
Goodman fights out of an orthodox stance. He is a durable boxer but has no real knockout punch. His eight stoppage wins were all TKO's.
Naoya Inoue vs. Sam Goodman Betting Picks and Predictions
The last time Naoya Inoue was taken to 12 rounds was in 2019. Nonito Donaire was the man to achieve it, but he lost the fight by unanimous decision. Inoue and Donaire rematched in 2022, with the former, ending the contest by TKO in the 2nd round.
Inoue’s win over Donaire was one of nine successive stoppage victories. And we only see him making it ten when he fights Sam Goodman. Therefore, the only bet to make is when the fight ends.
Six of Inoue’s last nine stoppage wins came in the second half of the fight. Sam Goodman has gone the distance in 11 of his 19 wins, and we think he can survive until the second half of this fight.
The fight to end in rounds 7-12 is our betting pick.
