NFC Championship Spread
As soon as both the Wild Card Round and the Divisional Round conclude, two teams will separate themselves at the top and play in the title game. That's when the NFC Championship Spread will be made available, with countless odds also being presented for the two franchises.
You might see a spread of -5 and +5 in this case, with the NFC over-under set at 53 points. For the sake of discussion, we'll say Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are going to play in the NFC Championship Game vs. Seattle. If the Seahawks are the favorites at -5 and you bet on them to cover the spread, that means they'll have to win by at least six points for you to cover.
A five-point win is a push, and anything else means you lose. In terms of the NFC over-under, assuming the Packers and Seahawks combine to score more than 53 points surely isn't out of the question. In fact, that number will be among the most enticing from the NFC Championship betting line.
Both Russell Wilson and Rodgers are two of the best quarterbacks in the league, while Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has solidified himself as an elite wide receiver. Whenever he and Rodgers are on the same page, they're sure to create some magic out there.
AFC Championship Odds
Meanwhile, in the AFC, the New England Patriots had been the class of the conference for several campaigns, but things have surely changed with Tom Brady now out of town and Patrick Mahomes taking over the offense in Kansas City to skyrocket their AFC Championship Odds. The latest odds for the AFC were last updated on August 27, 2024:
AFC Winners Odds 2024/25 | |||
---|---|---|---|
Kansas City Chiefs | +360 | +380 | +360 |
Baltimore Ravens | +425 | +440 | +425 |
Buffalo Bills | +475 | +475 | +500 |
Cincinnati Bengals | +700 | +800 | +700 |
Miami Dolphins | +1100 | +1100 | +1200 |
Houston Texans | +1200 | +1200 | +1200 |
Los Angeles Chargers | +1400 | +1400 | +1400 |
After multiple successful seasons including the recent Super Bowl wins, the Chiefs continue to be strong contenders. That's because they've locked in Mahomes, Chris Jones, Travis Kelce, and others to long-term deals. With Andy Reid and his brilliant coaching ways on the sidelines too, this team is always going to be dangerous. However, no one can forget about Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
Jackson himself is an absolute force with the ball in his hands, as he can hurt you with his strong right arm and his speedy wheels as well. Both the Chiefs and the Ravens now figure to be the elite sides in the AFC for years to come, making it quite the rivalry.

AFC Championship Point Spread
Just like the NFC, you're likely going to see a high AFC Championship Point Spread in terms of the AFC over-under, while the betting lines will also be pretty darn tight too. Since we're expecting the Chiefs and Ravens to be among the best of the best in the AFC for a while, let's say they meet in the AFC Championship Game.
You might see an AFC Championship betting line of Kansas City at -3 and Baltimore at +3. Again, this means that the Chiefs will be three-point favorites, with the Ravens as three-point underdogs. If you take KC to cover, they'll need to win by four points or more, while three is a push. What will make things even more interesting between these two will be to see who captures the No. 1 seed and postseason home-field advantage.
Only the No. 1 seed from both the AFC and NFC receive an NFL first-round bye, plus the home-field advantage throughout the postseason. We can't tell you how important playing at home and not having to travel is for the AFC title game. It gives the host team a massive benefit.
So, that will make a team's play during the NFL regular season all the more important. Being the only roster to not play in the Wild Card Round and never having to travel for a road game during the playoffs feels like literal gold. Will the Chiefs, Ravens, or some other team earn that honor this season?
