Born and raised in Nevada, Eric was exposed to the world of sports betting at an early age. He yearned to be 21 just to hit the sportsbook, and when that day finally came, he became a regular at the smoke-filled room, sweating out bets with sketchy characters. Eric's passion for sports betting hasn't wavered since. However, he's developed a separate interest in business too. Eric combines both these deep passions for OSB where he not only drops expert betting advice, but also researched news about the state of industry. Things like new legalization bills, tax changes, state revenue, innovation, and so much more!

Legal Sports Betting May Not Come to North Carolina Anytime Soon

There has been legislation proposed to greenlight some forms of sports betting, but current loopholes, economic inequalities, and skepticism surrounding projections could prevent the state from introducing legal gambling anytime soon—or maybe at all.

Federal Judge Overturns Law Legalizing Sports Betting in Florida

Online sports betting is no longer up and running in Florida—for now, at least. A federal judge has overturned a piece of legislation that was signed into law this past May by the state's governor, Ron DeSantis, that green lit online sports betting through the Seminole Tribe. Their operation, which launched on November 1, has officially been shut down, suddenly jeopardizing the long-term future of online sports betting in Florida.
