Their fight was originally scheduled for 2022 but had to be called off following a failed drug test by Benn in the lead-up to the bout. Benn’s suspension has now been lifted, leaving him free to finally take the fight against his long-time nemesis.
Not only will the duo be fighting for their own reputations, but also their respective family names, after both fighters’ fathers memorably fought each other twice in the 1990s.
Chris Eubank Sr. won the first with a ninth-round TKO stoppage, with the rematch ending in a controversial split decision draw. Most observers believed Conor's father, Nigel Benn, won the fight.

In a way, this contest reminds us a bit of the UFC. The natural instinct is to follow the old boxing adage that a ‘good big un will always beat a good little un’. Where the UFC element comes into this contest is with the unknown.
Chris Eubank Jr. is obviously going to be the bigger puncher. But he is seven years older than Benn, and we don’t know how much getting down to 160 lbs will take out of him, and we also don’t know how much keeping to under 170 lbs after the weigh-in will affect him.
