The Nets rebounded the following night with a 122-114 win over the Hawks, snapping a three-game losing streak. Now they'll head to Boston on Tuesday for the second game in a home and home.

Celtics vs Nets Betting Trends

Boston is a 14-point home favorite at TD Garden, where they have a 23-12 record. Joe Mazzulla's club has not been bankable at home all season, covering the spread just 42.9% (15-20) of the time. The Celtics are 34-11 versus Eastern Conference opponents.

The Nets are 12-23 away from home, but have a very respectable 20-14-1 ATS record - the 6th-best cover percentage in the league. However,Ā Jordi Fernandez's squad is a downright miserableĀ 13-30 straight up against conference opponents.

TheĀ over/underĀ for Tuesday's game is set atĀ 218.5 points. The OVER is 19-16 on Boston's parquet floors, while the UNDER is 20-15 when the Nets are on the road.

Porzingis returns

The Celtics have won 7 of their past 10 games and have the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference all but locked. They were missing Derrick White and Al Horford in Saturday's contest against the Nets and Jaylen Brown left the game with back spasms.

The story of the game, however, was the return of Kristaps Porzingis, who was sidelined eight games with a mysterious illness. Porzingis registered a team-high 24 points and Jayson Tatum almost tripled doubled with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

Tatum has averaged 27.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists since the All-Star break despite popping up in the injury report with a right knee issue.

Nets keep losing close games

Brooklyn won for just the second time in 12 games, defeating the Hawks 122-114 on Sunday night. While they have the 5th-worst record (23-45) in the NBA, the Nets are making a habit of playing teams close.

Before their victory against Atlanta, Fernandez's club lost by 2 to the Celtics, by 6 to the Bulls, and by 5 to the league-leading Cavaliers. Prior to that, they upset the Lakers 111-108 last Monday and lost by just 2 points to Warriors.

Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets NBA Picks

Boston has the 3rd-best record (49-19) in the NBA, is playing at home, and is well rested after not playing since Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Nets have the fifth-worst record in the league (23-45), suggesting this one should be a slam dunk for the Celtics.

But, Joe Mazzulla's team is just 15-20 against the spread at home, and the Nets keep covering on the road, with a 20-14-1 ATS mark.

We'll play the trends and take Brooklyn to cover (+14) in another losing cause with the UNDER 218.5.
