The Oklahoma City Thunder have been a dominant force in the NBA this season, though you'll have a tough time convincing the Dallas Mavericks of that fact. Dallas has won three in a row over Oklahoma City. The Mavs handed the Thunder a 121-119 setback on Nov. 13 at Oklahoma City.
As these two clubs meet in the NBA Cup quarter-finals, looking to Tuesday's NBA picks, oddsmakers are leaning toward the Thunder to be ending that Dallas run of success against them. It's the Thunder who are set as the 4.5-point home chalk.
Let's look at the latest betting lines. Odds are subject to change.

The NBA picks are showing the over has hit in nine of the last 11 games played by Dallas. In head-to-head meetings between Dallas and Oklahoma City, the over has proven to be the winning play 10 out of 15 games. Four of Oklahoma City's last six games against Southwest Division opposition have also gone over.

How Will Thunder Size Up Against Dallas?
Losing in six games to Dallas in last year's playoffs, critics of the Thunder were noticing that Oklahoma City didn't deal well with the length the Mavericks could put on the floor in the form of Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively.
The offseason addition of 7-foot, 250-pound Isaiah Hartenstein was supposed to solve that dilemma. However, Hartenstein was hurt early in the season and missed the Nov. 13 loss to Dallas.

He's back now and since they've added Hartenstein to the lineup, Oklahoma City is 7-1 SU. In those eight games, Hartenstein is averaging 11.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.
It's not an entirely perfect matchup, however. Chet Holmgren, Oklahoma City's other big man, is out with a hip injury.
Mavericks Shorthanded For Matchup With Thunder
Dallas was without its best player for that Nov. 13 win over Oklahoma City. Guard Luka Doncic didn't play.
He's back for this tilt, but an illness that's working its way through the team is leaving the Mavericks short-staffed for this game. Small forwards P.J. Washington and Naji Marshall are listed as questionable.
Power forward Maxi Kleber is out with the same illness. Point guard Jaden Hardy (right ankle sprain) will miss his first game of the season.
Dallas vs Oklahoma City NBA Picks
This is certainly an intriguing matchup. Dallas has won seven in a row and 11 of the last 12 games. Oklahoma City has won seven of the past 10 games. The Thunder have covered in three straight and four of the last five. Dallas has covered in eight of the last 10 games.
It's difficult to look past the success Dallas has enjoyed against the Thunder. The Mavericks have had Oklahoma City's number and that has continued into this season. Until that changes, stick with what works. Take Dallas to cover as a +4.5 road underdog in the Tuesday NBA picks.
