Buffalo And Kansas City Road To The Conference Title Game
The Buffalo Bills rode an electric second half to rout the Denver Broncos in their wildcard round game. After 471 yards of total offense, many expected a similar result against the Baltimore Ravens. However, the game would be nowhere as easy. Buffalo started out well. It was 21-10 Bills at halftime. Many fans and even experts wrote off the Ravens and Lamar Jackson. That would be the wrong move. Baltimore rallied and despite three turnovers closed the deficit to two points after three quarters.
Buffalo kicked two field goals in the fourth quarter and probably thought that was enough. Again, Baltimore quickly drove the length of the field and scored a touchdown. Jackson and the Ravens went for two only for Mark Andrews to not be able to come up with the conversion. Buffalo held on and advanced to the AFC Championship with a dramatic 27-25 win.
Kansas City won 15 of their first 16 games and then tip-toed past the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round. It was not pretty as Houston outgunned Kansas City offensively. The Texans ran for 147 yards but managed only 14 points. Yes, the kicking game was the difference. The Texans missed two field goals and an extra point while Kansas City was perfect as Harrison Butker piled up 11 points. Kansas City covered if you got the spread early by half a point in most cases. The 23-14 win sent them back to another AFC Championship game.
Naturally, both teams are very familiar with each other. The fun part is figuring out how this game may go.
Bills vs Chiefs Bets Will Remain Tight
Bills vs Chiefs bets will remain tight on Sunday night. It is no secret that Buffalo got a little lucky but their defense was timely against a high-powered Baltimore team. Kansas City understands they got off easy against a Houston team that did not cash in on their opportunities. Weather will not play much of a role as temperatures will likely be in the 25-30 degree range on Sunday night. Snow is not expected this time and wind should not be an issue either.
The Bills and Chiefs mirror each other in a lot of ways. Both feature very good defenses that can come up large in games. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are very mobile quarterbacks. Allen usually takes more risks while Mahomes is more picky when it comes to scrambling. Mahomes only ran for 14 yards against Houston and recovered his own fumble. Meanwhile, Allen merely ran for 20 yards but got in the end zone twice.
Both quarterbacks threw the ball around 22-25 times. One has to think the ball gets aired out a bit more on Sunday night. The hardest part with this game is betting against Mahomes. He had five fourth quarter comebacks and led seven game-winning drives. Kansas City knows how to win these contests late. Is this the year the tables finally turn? The Chiefs have been on the ropes so many times.
This game expects to come down to the final possession. Josh Allen finally gets one over on Patrick Mahomes for those past Divisional Round losses.
This Game Total Is Now 47.5?
Alright, Bills vs Chiefs bets ask this game total is now 47.5? The game total has ranged from 46.5 to 48.5 for Sunday night. Currently, the 47.5 number is about right. Vegas has been pretty close with the AFC for the most part and Kansas City trends toward the under. Seven of their last eight playoff games have gone that way.
Also, this game will be a war in the trenches. Buffalo wants to desperately take the ball out of Mahomes' hands. Simply, the less Kansas City is on the field, the less Mahomes can throw to Travis Kelce. Yes, there is no Taylor Swift curse in the postseason. Kelce had 117 yards on seven catches against Houston. Buffalo must find a way to interrupt that connection better.
The problem for Buffalo is the red zone. They may not score touchdowns as often and the same goes for Kansas City. Honestly, this will be close again but this time the under should prevail barring overtime.
