2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix Betting Picks

Max Verstappen is the joint favorite to win the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix. A race victory will secure a fourth-consecutive world title for Verstappen. However, the Dutchman will have plenty of opposition from McLaren and Ferrari as they fight for constructors’ championship points. Read on for our Formula 1 betting picks in what promises to be another spectacular race.

After a stunning drive in Brazil in Round 21, Max Verstappen is now on the brink of a fourth successive F1 drivers’ championship.

In wet conditions, Max Verstappen underlined his credentials as being the best driver of the current crop by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix from 17th position on the starting grid. Further helping Verstaappen's cause was Lando Norris only managing a P6 finish,

As a result, Verstappen now holds a 62-point lead over Norris in the Drivers’ Championship. A win for Verstappen in Vegas will clinch a fourth world title. Verstappen will also be crowned world champion if he doesn’t win the race and Norris fails to finish with three points more than the Dutchman.

There will only be 60 points available after this race. So Norris needs to close the gap to at least 59 points to keep the championship alive. The bookmakers think the game is up. Verstappen is now -5000 and Norris is +1600.

McLaren looking to clinch the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.

In addition to Max Verstappen’s championship challenge, there is a great scrap taking place in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.

The days of Red Bull’s domination are over. Anybody who backed them to win this title at the beginning of the season must be beside themselves as they now look unlikely to win the championship.

McLaren is the favorite at -650. Ferrari is their closest rival at +400, with Red Bull now at +5000.
In the championship, McLaren leads the way with 593 points. They hold a 36-point lead over Ferrari on 557 points. Red Bull has 544 points.

Although far from out of the equation, Red Bull has had little help from Sergio Perez this season. Perez has contributed just 151 points (Verstappen has 393).

The other contenders have two drivers contributing in nearly every race.

For McLaren, Norris has 331 points and Pisatri 262. Ferrari has Leclerc at 307 points and Sainz at 244 (Oliver Bearman contributed six points when he drove the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in place of the ill Sainz).

Red Bull are simply relying on Verstappen to carry the team. And as good as he is, he can’t keep outscoring two teams with two drivers regularly finishing on the podium.

Ferrari looks to be the most in-form team. But with the drivers’ championship now looking over, McLaren will soon be able to focus on the constructors’ championship.

Along with their 36-point lead, that should be enough to see them clinch the title.

Our 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix betting picks

As extraordinary as Max Verstappen’s win was in Brazil, we can’t let it influence our picks to win in Vegas.

The facts are the Interlagos victory was Red Bull’s first win in 11 races. That is no coincidence. It’s because the McLarens and Ferraris have been faster in recent weeks. Verstappen’s win was down to his superior driving skills in wet conditions, not because he had the quickest car.

The Vegas street circuit is compared to Monza, one of the fastest on the F1 roster. Monza is also known as the Temple of Speed. This all points to another weekend of domination from McLaren and Ferrari.

Okay, Red Bull always has a chance with the superior skills of Verstappen, and he can never be written off. But, with McLaren and Ferrari fighting to win the constructors’ championship, they should be the teams to beat.

Given the better form of Ferrari in recent weeks, either Ferrari to win the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix is our betting pick.
