OSB Houston To Beat Dallas In Low Scoring Affair

Alright, Week 11 concludes with a Texas sized Monday Night Football game. Houston (6-3) and Dallas (3-6) come in on opposite sides of the NFL standings. Here, at Online Sports Betting, we see if Houston can get back in form or can Dallas spring an upset. The Texans seem to be having significant issues offensively and then there are the Cowboys. So, Texans vs Cowboys bets end with the potential for something resembling chop suey.

  • What? NFL 2024/2025 Week Eleven - Houston Texans vs. Dallas Cowboys
  • Where? AT&T Stadium - Arlington, Texas
  • When? Monday November 18th, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN/ABC

Week 11 uncorks what could be a bit of a stinker here. However, one never quite knows when it comes to the NFL. Some of the best games can be ones that appear horrendous on paper. This week's byes include the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Remember that OnlineSportsBetting offers you for free the best betting online sportsbook reviews in 2024. The major bookies have published Monday numbers for the Texans and Cowboys below and many other sports events.

Texans vs Cowboys Bets Aim Embrace The Potential Mess

Texans vs Cowboys bets embrace the potential mess. Experts keep speculating about games Dallas will be flexed out of now that Dak Prescott expects to miss the rest of the season. Prescott and the Cowboys already were in the midst of a lost season but now things have become much worse. The numbers are pretty ugly and we will list only some of them. Needless to say, the Micah Parson comments reinforce the Country Club notion many have talked about for what feels like decades.

Now, the Texans come in reeling themselves. Teams have figured out ways to defend the C.J. Stroud led offense. It got to the point where Chris Simms illustrated this recently in very black and white terms. There is almost a pattern that allows teams to routinely trick the Texans and break down their line protection schemes. With injuries starting to mount and teams getting the ball more, naturally the Texans are allowing more yards and points. As a result, they have dropped two straight contests.

Yes, the bright side is Houston plays in the AFC South where the Texans still enjoy a two game cushion over the Indianapolis Colts. Furthermore, the Colts have their own problems with quarterback controversies. However, the Texans do have increasing injury woes themselves including Tank Dell, Stefon Diggs, and Nico Collins. This potentially sets the stage for what could be a very muddled Monday night affair in "Jerry World."

Fortunately, the weather should cooperate with cooler temperatures on Monday night. At least fans should not sweat much as Houston tries to get only its second win of the year by more than one possession. The belief is they can do this.

Texans And Cowboys Should Dive Under

So, Texans vs Cowboys bets should dive under. The problem with the Cowboys is that they have played so poorly. Even the New York Giants offense has more talent than what is seen with Dallas. If anyone watched last week, the Philadelphia Eagles caused five turnovers as the Cowboys struggled to 49 net passing yards. That is not misprint and yes, this really happened. It was the first time we saw expected points into the -30's from the offense in 2024.

Houston played well and caused five Jared Goff interceptions. However, their offense could not put the Lions away. Detroit kept chipping and chipping away. Eventually, they came back to win despite being down 23-7 at halftime. As the saying goes, NFL teams will figure you out if you are good enough. Detroit kept playing their game and Houston let off the gas pedal. Now, the Texans face a game they need to win to stop the bleeding.

The temptation to go way below the current 41.5 number is very real. Betting money atttempts to push the game total toward 42 and even 42.5 for Monday night. Trey Lance offers some potential but the offensive line for Dallas and the running backs do not scare anyone. Cooper Rush is clearly not the answer either as Houston should be able to tee off on either quarterback. Dallas is projected to score around 17 points but is likely to go under. The question is how far? Single digits are again possible.

Totals say hammer the under here. It is a risk but if Dallas cannot mount more than 13 points, this feels like a win. Houston does not blow many teams out so expecting them to get close to 30 might be tougher than normal. Even in Jerry World, take the Under at 41.5 and try to get something extra at 40.5 perhaps.

A Final Bet For The Road

So, the Texans vs Cowboys bets beg for one for the road. The inevitable problem with this Monday night game is trying to gauge who will start for Dallas, who will be healthy for both teams, and then judging props from there. Player numbers will be available later in the week but again, wait to see who plays.

For fun, Dallas and the Under of 1.5 touchdowns still rings in at a surprising +125. That is unexpected given what we have seen from their offense in the past two home games. It has not been pretty and may continue. They have one of the most inept red zone offenses as it is.

Consequently, take that Under for Monday night ladies and gentlemen.
