Artur Beterbiev Career Breakdown

Artur Beterbiev has a professional fight career record of 20-0. The 39-year-old has won all 20 of his fights by KO or TKO.

Only once in his career has Beterbiev been taken into a 12th round. That was in 2017 when he knocked out Enrico Kolling with less than 30 seconds of the fight remaining. The win saw Beterbiev crowned as IBF champion, a belt he still holds today.

Beterbiev has since added the WBC and WBO championship titles to his IBF crown. He won the WBC title with a 10th round TKO victory over Oleksandr Gvozdyk in 2019, and the WBO title with a 2nd round stoppage of Joe Smith Jr. in June 2022.

Beterbiev has successfully defended all three titles against Brits Anthony Yarde and Callum Smith. The 7th-round stoppage win over Smith in January is his most recent outing.

Dmitry Bivol has a career fight record of 23-0. The breakdown shows 12 of his wins have come by knockout with 11 by decision.

Bivol is the No.2 ranked light-heavyweight according to The Ring, and in the eyes of BoxRec, is the third-best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

The 33-year-old last fought in June. He defeated Malik Zinad by TKO in Saudi Arabia.

Zinad stepped in at short notice to take the fight after Beterbiev had to withdraw through injury. The stoppage victory ended a run of nine successive wins by unanimous decision.

Bivol has won by unanimous decision in all 11 of his fights that have gone the distance. The most famous being his victory over Saul Alvarez in May 2022.

In the win over Alvarez, all three judges scored it 115-113. So it wasn’t as dominant as it sounded. But take nothing away from Bivol. Even though Alvarez was stepping up from super-middleweight, Bivol was still a massive underdog on the night and was given little chance by most season observers.
