The 2024 Rocket League Championship Series World Championship is right around the corner. OSB looks at the squads with the best odds to win.

The month of September is upon us, and esports fans know exactly what that means. It is just about time for the Rocket League Championship Series World Championship to get started.

Which squads have the best shot at winning it all? It just so happens that is what we are here to figure out.

  • What: Rocket League Championship Series World Championship
  • When: Tuesday, September 10 - Sunday, September 15
  • Where: Fort Worth, Texas

Interest in this upcoming tournament is incredibly high. And that comes as no surprise. The Rocket League World Championship is classified as an S-Tier event. That means participation is reserved for the best of the best—the most elite Rocket League performers out there.

Before we go any further, here is a look at the latest online esports betting odds for the RLCS World Championship tournament:

As usual, please remember to double-check these Rocket League betting odds right up until you submit your wager. Our RLCS World Championship betting odds are accurate entering Friday, September 6. Since the first round of the tournament does not begin until Tuesday, September 10, the best online sportsbooks in the United States will continue to shift their lines in the coming days.

With this in mind, we also recommend shopping around for the best prices and promotions. Because this is such a big event, there are sure to be plenty of online sports betting bonuses and promotions available for esports enthusiasts.

Storylines, of course, abound as we head into the RLCS Worlds. Chief among them: Can Vitality (+950) successfully defend their crown?

BDS Enters as Odds-On Favorite to Win Rocket League World Championship

Vitality might be the reigning champion, but it is BDS (+375) who enters as the field favorite. Granted, at nearly 4-to-1 odds, they’re not exactly runaway favorites. Still, the hype is understandable.

BDS is coming off a first place finish at the Rocket League World Cup last month. Their run in the playoff round, specifically, was impressive. They won all three of their matchups 4-2 during that run, including against the Falcons (+470) and Gen.g (+575).

Mind you, this isn’t coming out of nowhere. BDS has now won 73 percent of their matches over the past 12 months. Even if the hype is inflated by their performance at the World Cup, it’s not by much.

Should We Be Concerned About Vitality?

After coming off a Rocket League World Championship victory in 2023, Vitality now enters with the sixth-best odds of taking home the 2024 title.

That seems low at first glance. But Vitality has looked rocky in recent performances. They are a shaky 6-4 through their last 10 matchups, and while they made the Rocket League World Cup playoffs, they were swept by Gen.G 4-0 in the opening best-of-seven set. They also started to show some warts during the Major 2 EU Open. Not only did they struggle to beat certain underdogs, but they didn’t really fare too well in their final matchup with Furia (+1050)—which is another squad many expected them to take down.

On the bright side, this roster is working with admirable continuity. The core has been together for over 700 days, according to Esports Charts. That familiarity with one another could bode well.

Even so, we are approaching Vitality’s Rocket League World Championship stock with a degree of concern.

Don’t Sleep on Falcons at the RLCS World Championship

With the second-best odds to win the 20240 RLCS World Championship, this Falcons roster is hardly being slept on. At the same time, they may be better suited to emerge victorious than their 4.7-to-1 payout suggests.

While Team Falcons fell to BDS in the World Cup Final, they remain on quite a run. This roster has won 93 percent of all their matches over the past 12 months. That’s a mind-melting success rate.

Team Falcons also made quick work during the World Cup of many teams in the Rocket League World Championship bracket. They Gen.g (3-0), FURIA (4-0) and G2 Esports (4-1) in succession.

Our Pick to Win the Rocket League World Championship

This year’s field is exceedingly difficult to parse.

On the one hand, we’re tempted to ride the Team BDS (+375) wave after what they did at the World Cup. On another hand, the body of work Team Falcons (+470) are cobbling together can’t be ignored.

Then, on top of everything else, we have the new Rocket League World Championship format to consider. They will be rolling out a SWISS format this year. This setup isn’t familiar to many, so here’s EsportsGG’s Luis Gomez’s breakdown on it:

“The way it works is simple but can be difficult to picture. There will be a total of five rounds, every series is a best-of-five, and all matches in each round happen simultaneously. The only thing teams need to do to advance is win three matches before they lose three matches.”

There is another element to the SWISS format as well: Teams won’t know who they are pulling until right before the Rocket League World Championship starts. That makes onset preparation a lot more difficult.

Given the circumstances, we also find ourselves tempted to go with G2 (+515) or Gentle Mates Alpine (+600). Both have shown exceptional skill at adjusting their approaches and tactics on the fly.

Nevertheless, we can’t help but pick BDS to win it all. They sent a message to the entire globe during the World Cup—not just because they won, but because of how they won, and who they beat to do it.
