Betting to win the 2024 Men’s Wimbledon title

World No.1 Jannik Sinner is the +187 betting favorite to win the 2024 Men’s singles at Wimbledon. The Italian made it to the semi-finals at SW19 last year, comprehensively losing to seven-time champion Novak Djokovic in three sets.

Second in the betting to win Wimbledon is Carlos Alcaraz at +240. The Spaniard is fresh off winning the French Open in June. En route to his third Grand Slam title, Alcaraz defeated Sinner in five sets in an enthralling semi-final showdown. Despite this success, Alcaraz has recently slipped to No.3 in the world rankings.

Up to No.2 in the world and third favorite to win the men’s singles title is Novak Djokovic. The Serb has won this event seven times, the last coming in 2022. To win an eighth title, Djokovic is +300.

The top three in the betting are head and shoulders above the rest of the field. Beaten finalist in France, Alexander Zverev, is fourth in the betting. But the German is all the way out at odds of +1600.

Our Wimbledon 2024 pick to win men's singles

In the men’s final last year, Carlos Alcaraz did the unthinkable and defeated Novak Djokovic in a five-set thriller. We always knew that the time would come for Alcaraz. But no one expected it to happen so soon on grass, and against the great Novak Djokovic.

With a Wimbledon title already in the bag, Alcaraz will fear no one. He knows he can beat Djokovic on grass and he also knows he can beat Sinner, having defeated the top-ranked man in the world in Paris in recent weeks.

Alcaraz was two sets to one down to Sinner and heading out of the French Open at the semi-final stage. The Spaniard then somehow upped his game to produce a remarkable comeback to win in five sets.

Furthermore, how Alcaraz went through the gears will have put doubt into the mind of Sinner ahead of any future meetings. The Italian had no answers for Alcaraz once he got on a roll.

Therefore, we see no reason why Carlos Alcaraz won’t defend his title and we make the Spaniard our pick to win the men’s singles at Wimbledon 2024.

Our picks to win the Wimbledon women's singles

Onto our pick to win the women’s title, and this is a lot more tricky.

We know the grass isn’t the surface of choice for world number one Iga Swiatek, so we are giving her a miss. But the facts are that all of the favorites and top four in the world - Swiatek, Gauff, Sabalenka, and Rybakina - are vulnerable on grass.

As a result, we are going to hedge our bets on the women’s title.

Our first selection is Ons Jabeur. The Tunisian has made the last two finals at SW19, so we know she can play on grass. There is a slight doubt about her when it comes to getting over the finish line, but at +1400, Ons Jabeur is a good value betting pick.

We are also going to have a small wager on Jessica Pegula. She came up short at Eastbourne, losing a close match against Emma Raducanu in the Round of 16. But the week before, Pegula won the Ecotrans Ladies Open on grass in Berlin. The world no.5 is our second pick at +1600.
