Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka Betting Pick

Both fighters step on week’s notice to headline UFC 303 — and honestly, this fight should be more competitive than McGregor-Chandler would’ve ever been. Just take a look at the latest Pereira-Prochazka odds available at the best UFC betting sites:

Alex Pereira-160-160-160
Jiri Prochazka+135+135+135

This is a rematch from UFC 295 when Pereira won the vacant light heavyweight title from Prochazka. It was a back-and-forth first round, but we had it slightly for Prochazka thanks to grappling Pereira to the ground. However, in round two, Pereira struck with a vicious elbow that put down Prochazka for good. That was in November, so the question is, has anything changed in the past seven months to affect this result?

Well yes and no. Pereira successfully defended his title at UFC 300, making quick work of Jamal Hill — sustaining almost no damage, which made him able to turn around so fast for this show. Nothing has changed in regards to Pereira, he’s still one of the most dangerous strikers in all of UFC.

However, we’re inclined to say Prochazka is better off now than he was in November during the first meeting. If you remember, that UFC 295 bout was Prochazka’s first in a year and a half. An ugly shoulder injury put him on the shelf that entire time so you’d expect some ring rust. We’ve also seen Prochazka fight since the loss. Prochazka dropped Alexander Rakic at UFC 300 in a very impressive showing that surely shook off any remaining rust.

This is why we believe Prochazka has a real shot to upset Pereira. He should be sharper this time out than the first matchup and Pereira is famously hit-able in the octagon. You throw in the plus-money odds, and we’re confidently backing Prochazka in this one. An upset is brewing, we’re telling you!

Diego Lopes vs. Brian Ortega Betting Pick

This too was added last second after McGregor dropped out. This too is a banger fight that’s a betting toss up. Lopes is small favorite over Ortega on the moneyline, as seen below:

FighterMyBookieBovadaBetOnline
Brian Ortega+115+115+115
Diego Lopes-135-135-135

Lopes is one of the shiniest prospects in the UFC. After losing his UFC debut, he’s rallied to win three straight times — all by finish within two minutes. The 29-year-old is deadly both on the feet and on the ground. However, his caliber of competition hasn’t been the best so it’s tough to say just how good Lopes is.

Ortega is a step-up for sure, and a legit contender at featherweight (he’s fought and lost for the title twice). The last time we saw Ortega, he stunned Yair Rodriguez to win via submission. Ortega rolled his ankle during the fight introductions and was almost finished early on before recovering. It was an impressive comeback, especially after coming off a two-year in-ring hiatus.

We’ll be honest though, Lopes is more than capable of replicating Rodriguez’s offense success that night. In fact, we think he would’ve finished Ortega if in the same scenario. Lopes’ hype is real to us, and he has a chance to vault himself into title contention with a big showing here. We’re betting it happens!

Ian Machado Garry vs. Michael Page Betting Pick

The close moneyline fights don’t stop at UFC 303, here’s another one that’s near pick 'em too. Have a look-see at the current Page vs. Garry odds:

FighterMyBookieBovadaBetOnline
Michael Page+110+110+110
Ian Machado Garry-130-130-130

Garry is the most hated 14-0 fighter you’ll find in the sport’s history. It’s mostly because of his out-of-ring behaviors (and wife) but that matters little here. The fact is Garry is a pristine striker, but he’s matched up with an equally-impressive striker.

Page, who they call Venom, is fighting for the second time in the UFC. He made his career in Bellator, but looked the part in his UFC debut by completely outclassing Kevin Holland. Page is a legit boxer, who not just excels at striking, but perhaps more importantly, evading strikes.

We think Page’s defense is what wins him this fight. His movement, both on the feet and head, will be too much for Garry to consistently tag. We expect fireworks in this matchup but a Page win by decision at the end.
