Bets On UFC Dream Fights

There are a number of UFC and MMA “dream” matches on the table — not confirmed, but heavily talked about possibly happening. This speculation has led to bookmakers offering odds on these bouts. In this article, we’ll be predicting how these MMA dream fights end so you can be ready to pounce the odds if and when it becomes official.

Conor McGregor vs. Sean O'Malley Betting Pick

Everybody wants a piece of McGregor and the big payday that comes with that matchup. It seems anyone who’s anyone challenges him to a fight, however, it might actually happen with O’Malley. We’ll get to that soon, but first, here’s the latest McGregor-O’Malley odds available at the best UFC betting sites:

Conor McGregor+120+120+120
Sean O'Malley-165-165-165

Here’s why we could see this fight happening: O’Malley is the “chosen one” it feels like. UFC promotes all their champions, but they’ve gone into overdrive for their bantamweight title holder. Hell, even Dana White brought him along to the recent Tom Brady roast. That’s fine and dandy, but nothing would make a superstar out of O’Malley more than fighting (and beating) McGregor.

And it feels like McGregor is open to it. Just a few weeks ago, McGregor went on one of his famous Twitter (now called X) tirades. Initially, it was aimed at boxer Ryan Garcia for failing a drug test. McGregor mentioned O’Malley’s name in the same outburst since he too was popped with the same drug in 2019 (O’Malley served a six-month suspension because of it).

Enough about the backstory though, who actually wins if they fight? Well, the weight class will make a huge difference. O’Malley is the 135-pound champion, while McGregor’s next fight is at 165 pounds. There is a massive size difference and O’Malley says he’s willing to move up to make it happen (no way McGregor is dropping weight at this stage of his career).

Both fighters are strikers through and through so it would be an exciting bout. Despite the size disadvantage, it’s O’Malley’s fight to lose. He’s actually active, whereas McGregor isn’t. Yes, O’Malley loses power going up, but his accuracy should still be there to piece up McGregor. This betting line is way closer than it should be so slam O’Malley in the event this ever happens.

Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic Betting Pick

We’re pretty damn confident this fight eventually gets made. It was scheduled for last November before Jones injured himself and White has said it has to happen — the greatest of all time (Jones) vs. the greatest heavyweight (Miocic). As it stands, Jones is a staggering favorite over Miocic on the moneyline:

Jon Jones-500-500-500
Stipe Miocic+300+300+300

Miocic turns 42 years old in August of this year, and he looks every bit of it. He was shown on a UFC pay-per-view show limping and the little training footage we’ve seen of him looked “weak” — those are Jones' words, not ours. So yes, Miocic’s state isn’t the best. However, we have zero clue about the state of Jones.

Jones, the reigning heavyweight title holder, hasn’t fought since March 2023. He’s back to training now after tearing his pectoral muscle, but no one quite knows how he’ll look. Age is not on his side either (turns 37 in July) and he looked overweight at heavyweight to begin with.

Look, Jones should win this bout. However, the odds feel too lopsided to us given the real question marks surrounding Jones. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to throw a prayer bet on Miocic — something small, not a big risk. Even a few spare dollars pays quite lucrative given Miocic’s +300 odds. He has a better shot at winning than oddsmakers are giving him credit for.

Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira Betting Pick

Alright, this isn’t a “dream match” per see and it's not even in the UFC, but it is a highly anticipated fight that’s expected to get done soon. After a foray into boxing, Ngannou is expected to return to MMA and challenge for the PFL heavyweight title against Ferreira. Not only that, but Ngannou is a big-time favorite to win his return fight:

Francis Ngannou-500-500-500
Renan Ferreira+300+300+300

Honestly, this is another bet that feels worth it to take the underdog. Ferreira is nowhere near as accomplished as Ngannou, we get it, but it’s also fair to wonder what’s left of Ngannou as a fighter. He’s turning 38 years old in September and was just brutally knocked out by Anthony Joshua in the boxing ring. Throw in the fact that Ngannou hasn’t fought MMA since January 2022 and you can see why we think he’s not a layup bet.

So yes, we’re putting a small amount of Ferreira. He knocked out Ryan Bader in 21 seconds last time out so he’s not a “throwaway” champ. An upset isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
