  • What: UFC Fight Night
  • When: Saturday, March 2
  • Where: UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada

Jairzhino Rozenstruik vs. Shamil Gaziev Betting Pick

The main event is headlined by a pair of heavyweights that, no surprise, love to bang with their fists. So not only should this fight be fun, but extremely competitive too. Here are the current odds for Rozenstruik-Gaziev, per the best betting sites for UFC:

FighterBovadaBetUSMyBookie
Shamil Gaziev-165-165-165
Jairzhino Rozenstruik+140+140+140

The favorite is Gaziev, who you should know, is from Dagestan. However, the 34-year-old isnā€™t this unbelievable wrestler like youā€™d think from that Russian region. Gaziev has some ground game, but make no mistake, heā€™s a striker through and through. Eight of his 12 career wins have been by KO and Gaziev has never been beaten once.

Then thereā€™s Rozenstruik, who also loves to stand in the octagon and bang with his opponent. While Gaziev is a little more forward of a fighter, that plays into Rozenstruikā€™s strength, who is a counter-puncher. Rozenstruik holds a 13-5 career mark, with 12 wins coming by KO.

Taking the under 1.5 rounds wouldnā€™t be a bad bet on this one. However, we favor Gazievā€™s moneyline odds more. Honestly, we think itā€™s cheap given his talents. We sense bookies arenā€™t giving him a longer line because this is only his second UFC fight and remains relatively unknown.

But hereā€™s why we like this bet: Rozenstruik is pretty beat-able. Heā€™s 3-5 from 2020 and on. Those three wins are all against fighters long gone from the UFC roster so nothing overly impressive. Weā€™re quite confident Gaziev will get Rozenstruik out early in this fight. Perhaps parlay the under and Gaziev moneyline if youā€™re feeling extra risky.

Vitor Petrino vs. Tyson Pedro Betting Pick

Petrino is a big betting favorite in his light heavyweight clash. Currently, Petrino is -310 on the moneyline. Weā€™re not in love with that line hence why weā€™re taking the Petrino-Pedro over/under wager instead. Here are the latest odds on it:

OutcomeBovadaBetUSMyBookie
Over 1.5 Rounds-150-150-150
Under 1.5 Rounds+115+115+115

Thereā€™s a lot of hype building for Petrino. Heā€™s only 26 years old and has accumulated a 10-0 career mark. In four UFC bouts, heā€™s won by finish three times. Thatā€™s the thing that stands out about the Brazilian, heā€™s very, very dangerous ā€” more so than Pedro is.

Donā€™t think heā€™s just another jiu-jitsu guy from Brazil. No, no, no Petrino has stopping power in his hands. Matter of fact, seven of his ten wins have been the way of KO. Yes, he can go on the ground and have success, but itā€™s not his specialty at all.

Pedro is a pretty meh fighter. Heā€™ll have the slight grappling advantage over Petrino, but there are very few things about Pedro that wow us. Heā€™s amazingly been on the UFC roster since 2016, but has failed to stand out with a 7-4 mark.

Weā€™ll say this though: Pedro isnā€™t an easy guy to get out of there early. His chin is quite good, which could prove effective against Petrinoā€™s striking prowess. To us, taking the over is the bet to make. Pedro is experienced enough to at least hang in there for 1.5 rounds, if not go the whole distance.

Alex Perez vs. Muhammad Mokaev Betting Pick

Weā€™re staying with the over/under bets, this time with the Mokaev-Perez clash. The over outcome is the marginal favorite:

OutcomeBovadaBetUSMyBookie
Over 2.5 Rounds-125-125-125
Under 2.5 Rounds-105-105-105

Here again, thereā€™s little value in taking the moneyline as itā€™s too lopsided. Mokaev is a convincing favorite at -360, as he should be. The flyweight Mokaev is 10-0 and this guy can flat-out wrestle. Only 23 years old, heā€™s another prospect with plenty of hype around him.

This feels like a gimme win for Mokaev too. Perez was a title contender at one point, but has aged out and hasnā€™t stayed inactive. Since his flyweight title challenge in November 2020, heā€™s fought only once ā€” a loss to the now-champ Alexandre Pantoja. We expect Mokaev to wrestle him for a full three rounds and win on decision. Therefore, the over makes the most sense to bet.
