2024 UFC Betting

It was a banner year for the UFC in 2023. However, 2024 might even be better. There are some matchups already planned for the new year that will be doozyā€™s. Weā€™ve gone ahead and made UFC predictions on potential 2024 fights. Give this a read to get our expert betting advice!

Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic Betting Pick

Originally, this was supposed to headline the most recent UFC 295 pay-per-view in Madison Square Garden. Jones suffered a pectoral injury that forced him out ā€” and also created an interim heavyweight champion while he recovered from it (more on that soon). Dana White said the fight is still on for 2024 once Jones is fit again. This dream fight is where we start. Hereā€™s the current Jones vs. Miocic moneyline odds:

Jon Jones-400-400-400
Stipe Miocic+300+300+300

Miocic is arguably the greatest heavyweight in UFC history but heā€™s getting no love from the oddsmakers here. Honestly, we canā€™t dispute it. The delay in this fight hurt him even more than Jones despite Miocic not suffering an injury. Why? Because Miocic is 41 years old. Time isnā€™t exactly on his side ā€” and heā€™s been out of the ring since March 2021. Not only that but Miocic was shown visibly limping at UFC 295.

No one in their right mind should put money on Miocic. Jones is the easy bet here, but thereā€™s another heavyweight title involving Jones thatā€™s less certain as we explain next.

Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall

All right, one would think this fight is also on the horizon. At UFC 295, Aspinall became the interim heavyweight champion when he knocked out Sergei Pavlovich. The title will have to be unified against Jones sooner than later. As it stands, the top UFC betting sites have a potential Jones vs. Aspinall fight as a toss-up. Here are the odds:

FighterBetUSMyBookieBetOnline
Jon Jones-140-140-140
Tom Aspinall+120+120+120

Well go right ahead and say it: weā€™re not sold on Jones as a heavyweight. His one fight in the weight division against Ciryl Gane did nothing for us. The big question for any fighter making the big jump to heavyweight is how they handle the power of this division. Jones hasnā€™t answered that question because Gane ā€” who isnā€™t a super heavy hitter to start with ā€” didnā€™t land a single punch on Jones that fight. None!

Jones wonā€™t be so lucky if he gets in the octagon with the uber-dangerous Aspinall. This guy is your prototypical KO artist. In 14 career wins for Aspinall, 11 have been via knockout. Even more impressive, Aspinall has never been taken to the third round. All but three of his fights ended in the first, including the last one versus an equally dangerous Pavlovich.

So make no mistake, if Jones and Aspinall meet, this will be a short one. The winner will be whoever can deal the most punishment and thatā€™s the younger and stronger Aspinall. Bank on it!

Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira Betting Pick

Admittedly, this fight happening is less of a sure thing than the previous two weeks covered. However, thereā€™s potentialā€” and surely, most fight fans and bettors want to see it. This is one of the most bitter fight rivalries in recent memory, spanning kickboxing to MMA. If a fifth fight happens, Adesanya is a clear favorite over Pereira, as reflected in the odds:

FighterBetUSMyBookieBetOnline
Israel Adesanya-185-185-185
Alex Pereira+155+155+155

This rivalry was renewed at UFC 295. Pereira became the ninth person in UFC history to become a double champion when he won the lightweight heavyweight belt. Previously, he was the middleweight champion ā€” beating Adesnya for it and then losing it back to him. After Pereiraā€™s big win, he called out Adesnya, saying ā€œcome to daddy.ā€

Dana White did say Jamal Hill vs. Pereira is next, but we wouldnā€™t be surprised if Adesnya-Pereira 5 goes down. White likes money and thatā€™s a money fight. You know who else likes money? Bettors, and this is how you profit off this potential fight.

You bet Pereira. Honestly, weā€™re shocked that Adesanya is a semi-convincing favorite on these odds. We mean, Sean Strickland absolutely had his way with Adesanya last time out. Strickland is a pressure fighter, but heā€™s nowhere near as dangerous as Pereira is. It really feels like Adesanyaā€™s skills are in decline, which makes Pereira the better bet to make.
