- What: Oscar Collazo vs Garen Diagan
- When: Saturday, August 26th
- Where: San Juan, Puerto Rico
While Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois will take center stage on Saturday night in heavyweight action, there's also an intriguing bout taking place in the strawweight division. Oscar Collazo will be looking to defend his WBO title when he steps in the ring with Filipino Garen Diagan. This fight is set to take place at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It will be a full 12 rounds here since it's a title fight. The match can be seen on DAZN. Collazo just beat Melvin Jerusalem in May to retain the WBO belt and has yet to lose in his career. As for Diagan, he won his last bout earlier in the year against China's Huu Toan Le. Below, find the Oscar Collazo vs. Garen Diagan picks.

Collazo vs Diagan Odds
As you can see, the odds are very lopsided here. Collazo is expected to win with flying colors, sitting at -1500 odds at BetOnline. Diagan, a fighter with a small track record, comes back at +800.
Fight Preview
Collazo is a 26-year-old boxer who is of Puerto Rican descent but was born in Newark, New Jersey. The southpaw was a star at the amateur level, winning five national titles in seven years before turning professional in 2020. Since then, he owns a 7-0 record with five knockouts. In December of 2021, Collazo captured the vacant WBO Latino mini flyweight title and then in May, had the chance to be named the WBO flyweight champ against Jerusalem. Needless to say, he lived up to expectations a Jerusalem was forced to retire in the seventh round.
Collazo is undoubtedly a superior fighter to Diagan. He has fantastic footwork and lightning-quick hands. Collazo is technically the smallest class of fighter in boxing, standing just 5 foot 1 with a reach of 62.5". It's all about speed for him but Collazo has proven he can also knock out opponents with relative ease. This will be his third career fight in San Juan, previously beating Vicente Castro Cheneque and Kevin John Cruz Jusino at a different venue in the Puerto Rican capital.
Garen Diagan isn't exactly a household name in the sport. The Philippines native, who is 27, has an overall record of 10 wins and three losses while knocking out five opponents. He's just 2-2 in his last four bouts. This is his first shot at a world title. He turned pro seven years ago. Diagan is a bit taller than Collazo though, standing at 5 foot 3. Diagan is also a southpaw.
With little information on Diagan, it's understandable why he's a massive underdog here. Not much is known about him and although Collazo grew up in the States, he has lots of support in Puerto Rico. Perhaps Diagan's experience with more fights can come in handy. Betting on him isn't the worst idea because if he does win, it would result in a serious payday considering how lopsided his moneyline odds are.
Oscar Collazo vs Garen Diagan picks
Neither fighter is that well known, to be honest. That makes this a hard one to predict. It's pretty obvious that the Collazo moneyline offers absolutely no value. Instead, it's better to focus on a specific bet. While a knockout at -450 isn't a bad pick, I'm focusing on Oscar Collazo winning via decision at +325 odds. I expect Diagan to put up a respectable fight but it won't be enough in the end. Collazo retains the belt.
