Week 1 of the 2023 college football season is just over a month away as hundreds of teams across the nation begin their journey to hopefully win a national title. Unfortunately, though, only a handful of programs will actually be in the mix to lift the grand prize next January. The Georgia Bulldogs are tipped to repeat in the latest Online college football betting odds, but Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Michigan, and others are expected to contend as well. With no shortage of movement during the transfer portal as well, it should be a very interesting campaign. The 2024 National Championship will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston on January 8th, the home of the Texans. Keep reading for the College Football futures.

Georgia (+260)
The Bulldogs have won two National Championships in a row, therefore it's not exactly surprising to see them as a frontrunner here at +260. However, there is significant turnover from last year's roster. Stetson Bennett, Jalen Carter, Broderick Jones, Nolan Smith, and Darnell Washington, among others all left for the NFL. That being said, Georgia managed to have one of the best recruiting classes in the country, which should help them stay competitive. At QB, Carson Beck is expected to take over and the Bulldogs still have 13 starters returning. They have a ton of quality throughout the roster, despite the departures of numerous guys. Georgia also has a pretty manageable schedule. That'll help their CFP chances.
Alabama (+700)
Yes, Bama disappointed last year and didn't even make the Playoff despite having first overall pick Bryce Young at the helm. And while they've also seen several players leave for the pros, Nick Saban only had the best recruiting class in the nation this offseason. Not bad. Tyler Buchner also decided to transfer from Notre Dame, which adds some heat to the QB1 battle between him, Jalen Milroe, and Ty Simpson. The Crimson Tide also welcome back their top wideout in Ja'Corey Cooks, who was solid in 2022. Running back Jase McClellan is also returning for a fourth season. There is strength in all areas for Alabama. Their schedule is a bit more difficult than Georgia's though, with the likes of LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M as opponents.
Ohio State (+750)
The Buckeyes got into an absolute dogfight with Georgia in the CFP semifinals and truly pushed the national champs to the absolute brink, losing 42-41 in the Peach Bowl. CJ Stroud put on a show and although he and many others are now in the NFL, Ryan Day still has no shortage of talent at his disposal. Kyle McCord is expected to take over under center and he will be finding Marvin Harrison Jr a lot out wide, their best pass-catcher by a mile, and a projected first-round pick in 2024. Their running back duo of Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson could be the best in the country as well if they stay healthy. When it comes to defense, the Buckeyes are still incredibly strong, too. We'll see if OSU can get past Michigan in the Big Ten this time around and make another run in the College Football futures.
LSU (+1000)
It's been a few years since LSU was in this conversation. That's when Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, and Ja'Marr Chase were all wreaking havoc together in Baton Rouge, leading the Tigers to a national title. Brian Kelly will have Jayden Daniels under center once again, who was impressive in his first year with the program, leading them to a 10-4 record where they ultimately lost 50-30 in the SEC Championship to Georgia. The entire offensive line in front of Daniels returns which is huge, especially because he is considered a Heisman contender in 2023 and needs the best protection possible. Daniels' favorite weapon, Malik Nabers, is also back with the Tigers. Don't sleep on LSU.
Other Contenders
Michigan (+1100) lost in the CFP semifinal to TCU but JJ McCarthy is now a seasoned veteran and will be motivated as ever to get the Wolverines past that stage and finally contend for a title. The defense also looks pretty much the same as in 2022.
USC (+1200) is obviously another team to keep an eye on with reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams looking to end his college career with a bang. The Trojans underperformed last season but should be the best team in the Pac-12 by far before making the switch to the Big Ten.
Another intriguing option is Texas (+1800). They have easily the most talented QB room in the nation with Quinn Ewers, Arch Manning, and Maalik Murphy. Ewers will be the starter again but there are two guys ready to step in and do damage if given the opportunity. While Bijan Robinson is gone to the NFL, the Longhorns signed a five-star recruit at running back. This is one of the strongest Texas teams we've seen in years. It will be interesting to see how they do.
College Football Futures Picks
At this point, it's best to put some cash down on a few teams. In my eyes, those are Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan.
