---|---|---|---|
NY Rangers | +1.5 (-195) | +137 | Ov 6 (+102) |
Toronto Maple Leafs | -1.5 (+170) | -151 | Un 6 (-113) |
The Leafs are favored by 1.5 on the puck line and -151 on the moneyline. They've won five in a row on home ice. The Rangers come back at +137. The total is set at six goals, with the under likely offering the most bang for your buck. It's been hit in three of the last four matchups.
New York has actually taken down Toronto in back-to-back games, outscoring them 9-4 in the process.
New York vs Toronto Preview
The Rangers are in the midst of a respectable campaign, sitting in sixth place in the East with a 26-14-7 record. As of right now, they'd be in the playoffs. But, the Penguins and Capitals are breathing down their necks, therefore NY has to keep playing quality hockey. That appears to be happening lately, winning seven of their previous 10 outings. And while the defense has been their bright spot in 2022-23, allowing just 2.62 goals per game, it was the offense who shined on Monday at Madison Square Garden against the Panthers.
New York went up 2-1 in the first period before really going off. They scored four unanswered, with Zibanejad scoring twice. Defenceman Adam Fox also had a goal and two assists, while Artemi Panarin, the team's best playmaker, did what he does best: Set up goals. He tallied three assists. Between the Rangers' recent winning ways and their brilliance against Toronto in past meetings, this group will be feeling confident they can end the Leafs' unbeaten streak at Scotiabank.
Is this the year when Toronto finally overcomes its playoff woes? Although it's too early to say, Sheldon Keefe's squad is truly one of the best teams in the league, with a true four-headed monster. Auston Matthews, John Tavares, and William Nylander are all over the 20-goal mark, while Mitch Marner isn't far off. He's also got a team-high 39 assists. There aren't many organizations around that possess this many stars in their lineup. The Leafs are in third spot in the conference with 66 points (29-11-8) and continue to impress.
Monday's win over the Isles was dominant as could be, breaking the game wide open in the second. After allowing an early opener in the first period, the offense exploded, with Nylander scoring twice, while Tavares and Calle Jarnkrok also beat NY netminder Ilya Sorokin. Matthews added another in the third period, too. The Maple Leafs own a stellar 18-3-4 record in front of their fans. Toronto is also at Scotiabank for another three games after the Rangers leave town, playing host to the Sens, Capitals, and conference-leading Bruins.
Rangers vs Maple Leafs Prediction
Even though Toronto is hot at home, I see far too much value in the Rangers moneyline. They're 7-2 in their last nine against the Leafs. If that's not enough evidence, I don't know what it is. Take the visitors to get it done.
