The CFL season is slowly coming down to the wire as Week 15 of 21 approaches this weekend. There are just three games on the schedule, with all the action beginning on Friday as the Edmonton Elks take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. On Saturday, the league-best Winnipeg Blue Bombers face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, while the night-cap will see the BC Lions clash with the Calgary Stampeders. Keep reading for the CFL Week 15 picks.

Edmonton Elks vs Saskatchewan Roughriders Odds
Spread | Moneyline | Total | |
---|---|---|---|
Elks | +7 (-110) | +250 | Ov 50 (-110) |
Roughriders | -7 (-110) | -300 | Un 50 (-110) |
The two bottom teams in the West Division will square off on Friday. The Elks are just 3-10 on the season, while the Roughriders are 6-7. Edmonton has lost three in a row coming into this contest, falling in back-to-back weeks to Calgary and to the Redblacks. Last Saturday was, unfortunately, an absolute blowout by a score of 56-28. It was the seventh time in 2022 that the Elks allowed more than 30 points in a single game. The offense actually looked good including quarterback Taylor Cornelius but once again, but Edmonton struggled to hold it down defensively as the Stampeders ran riot on them. Perhaps they'll have it a bit easier with Cody Fajardo unavailable for Saskatchewan here in the CFL Week 15 picks.
Without their QB1, the Roughriders will turn to Mason Fine and/or Jacob Dolegala, who haven't played a lot this season. But against a team like Edmonton, they should be able to manage. Saskatchewan also conceded a lot of points last week. 54 to be exact to the reigning Grey Cup champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers. That's quite unusual for a team that is usually very stout defensively. On a more positive note, the Riders are getting back a couple of key offensive pieces in Shaq Evans and Kyran Moore.
The Elks have the worst defense in the CFL both against the pass and the run. I do think Saskatchewan will bounce back at home and cover the spread here.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats Odds
Odds | Spread | Total | |
---|---|---|---|
Blue Bombers | -7.5 (-110) | -325 | O 46.5 (-110) |
Tiger-Cats | +7.5 (-110) | +270 | Un 46.5 (-110) |
What other way is there to put it? Winnipeg has been spectacular all season and is looking like the clear-cut favorite to repeat as Grey Cup champs. The Bombers are an impressive 12-1, which is a mile better than any other team in the league. The next closest is the BC Lions at 8-3. Their only loss came back in early August to the Montreal Alouettes in overtime. In Week 14, Winnipeg embarrassed the Roughriders in a 54-20 victory. Zach Collaros continued his tremendous campaign, completing 21 of 25 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns. He linked up with Nic Demski two times in the end-zone, too. Collaros leads the CFL in passing TDs and sits third in passing yards. With so many weapons at his disposal, it's no surprise the Bombers are so good. Four different receivers collected at least one touchdown vs. Saskatchewan, helping them put on an offensive clinic. Running back Brady Oliviera is also second in the league with 697 rushing yards. This is a very hard team to stop on both sides of the ball and that's why they're a clear favorite in the CFL Week 15 picks.
The Tiger-Cats are honestly lucky to be only a 7.5-point underdog for Saturday's game. To be frank, they've looked atrocious and their record reflects just that. Hamilton is 3-9 in 2022 which is somehow third in the East Division because everyone outside of the Toronto Argonauts is well below .500. It was the Argos who gave them the business in back-to-back weeks, handing the Ti-Cats two straight losses. Week 14 saw them put up just eight points in a 28-8 defeat and they were even outscored 20-0 in the second half. Needless to say, it couldn't have been a worse outcome for Hamilton. QB Jamie Newman threw for a mere 171 yards and was also picked off once. Despite three losses in a row though, it's only a matter of time until the Tiger-Cats figure out and put their best foot forward.
The last time these two teams met, Winnipeg easily covered the spread in a 26-12 win. I personally don't see any way Hamilton makes this closer than a touchdown. The Bombers are just that much better.
